Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Verbals are non binding. Hell, all they really tell ya is who you really got to beat out to get the kid. And hell, who really wants to play football at Indiana??
Particularly if your uncle was a 4-year starting QB at Notre Dame.

ND has something like 60 visiting players from the 2012 and 2013 classes coming to tonight's game, including 7 or 8 non-commitals in the top 100. And shiny new helmets.

Those helmets are very nice. Word is they are going to have the home version of the throwbacks they wore against Michigan.

Will the Huskers score more points than the high temperature today in Minneapolis? High temp at the Orange Bowl? High Temp at the equator? High temp at the surface of the sun?

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

When I was a kid we got a game on ABC at 3:30...if we were lucky, ABC had a noon game as well. That was it. Now between ESPN3 and the Sports Pack on DirecTV, I have my choice of over 50 games today. The times have changed.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Brandon Weedon is trying to keep Mizzou in the game, but Franklin just keeps insisting that Ok St. gets the W.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Who would really want to play football, especially quarterback, at Notre Dame?
Um...

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Umm, what the **** just happened in the Nebraska-Minnesota game? That was absolutely ridiculous and sums up the Gophers football team pretty well. Even playing well the bounces literally go against them.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Minnesota is doomed.

Or did anyone else see that forward fumble on 4th down?

That's got to be one of the most odd rules- a backward pitch was not recieved, but the back punched the ball foreward, enough for a first down (it was 4th). 2 plays later, Nebraska scores.

I'm not so sure of that fumble forward thing....

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

84-13 might be in trouble. Incredibly, after today the Gophers will still lead the all-time series 29-21 (although this will be our 15th straight loss) and we'll still have more National Titles 6-5. I don't think most people would have guessed that. I was hoping that the Huskers would beat the Badgers, but having those two fanbases together must have been a nightmare.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Nebraska leads Minnesota 34-0 and Oregon leads Colorado 35-0. Both games are at half.
Who breaks 60 first? Who gives up a TD first?

The only reason I could even attend the game was lots, and lots of beer.;)

Hawkeyes played well offensively today. Marvin McNutt has a phenomenal game and broke the Iowa Career Receiving Touchdown Record of 21 with 184 yards and 3TDs today, giving him 24 total, 8 this year. Crazy to think he was recruited as, and almost won the job his freshman year as a Quarterback.

Our defense sucks, and the only way we win is outscoring teams and getting a couple of big key plays each game.

As hard as it is to swallow, I hope Bucky wins tonight.

The Gophers are winning the second half 7-0!:) Oregon still might hit 60. Looks like the Gophers won't match the 71 point differential from 1983.

I saw it. It was a lateral and then played forward - I wouldn't call it a fumble because you must have possession to fumble the ball. Only in college football would there be a rule that says a ball played forward after a lateral is spotted where it crosses the sideline. Recall that in the NFL if the ball is fumbled out of bounds, it is returned to the spot of the fumble. There are also rules regarding fumbling on fourth down in the NFL. And only Nebraska could get this strange rule to work in their favor.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Optimist.
The only drama in this game will be the coin toss.

True. Though it looks like the gophers will keep nebraska under 50.

Minnesota still has Wisconsin and you know there is enough hatred there that the badgers will try to hang 70 on them.

Unlike his deep, burning hatred of Brewster, rumor has it that Bielema likes and respects Kill. He'll probably just kick the extra point against him, rather than consulting the chart and going for two.

He does like Kill, he was the first one to say he was a good hire for Minny.

But you know Bielema being the ****** bag he is will try and hang a 100 on 'em. But they do need to pound everyone they can to help them in the BCS, but still. I hate Bielema.

Irish helmets look great.

The University of Spoiled Children does have one amazing thing: a couple of their cheerleaders could step right into the porn industry.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Oklahoma/Texas Tech in a weather delay...

Maybe it's just because these delays are occuring in "National" level games, but I can't for the life of me remember more than a few games that had weather delays before this year... Now it seems to be a weekly thing... Anyone have any insight into this? Has the NCAA issued a point of emphasis on Lightning Safety or something?
