Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

At this point, I want total, utter, sideways cluster-***** chaos in the BCS... Arkansas beating LSU would be a nice start down that path... Ideally, enough chaos would ensue that Houston can make some noise :o

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Plus, it was unwatchable to you. I was riveted by the game and thought it was great drama. To each his own.

And FWIW, I think Oregon should be ahead of Alabama because their loss to LSU was on a not so neutral field in the first week of the season. Not to mention, they'll actually be a conference champion.

Plus I think Oregon had a number of players suspended for that game.

On one hand I'm ****ed because if Stanford won last week they could be #2 now, but you can't cry over spilled milk. This helps Oregon get closer to the NC game, which helps Stanford have a better chance for the Rose Bowl, so I'm all for it!

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

If Alabama and Oregon win out, what needs to happen for Oregon to leapfrog them in the standings? Will voters do that?

If LSU, Alabama and Oregon all win out we'll have an LSU-Alabama rematch in the national final. Oregon doesn't have nearly a good enough schedule (ineligible USC, Oregon State, ASU/UCLA) to overcome Alabama. The voters will be left with a rematch of LSU with either Alabama or Oregon...voters are going to choose Alabama.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

I don't think Auburn can upset Alabama, so I'd assume they will finish 11-1, but miss the SEC title game. Meaning they won't lose any BCS ground based on play.

LSU however could lose to Arkansas in the last weekend. Although I doubt it will happen. Most likely they will be 12-0 and play Georgia in the SEC title game. I guess Georgia could have a shot, as they are playing well this season. But they are not on the same level as LSU. This is assuming that South Carolina doesn't sneak past Georgia.

Oklahoma could gain some ground if they beat ISU and OSU in consecutive weeks. But not enough to reach the top without a ton of help.

Oregon's schedule isn't tough enough either to make the jump (USC, OSU).

Arkansas does have LSU, but would still need help to overcome 4 teams. Maybe if Oregon loses they could make it.

If Arkansas upsets LSU then Alabama will probably be in the SEC Championship.

ESPN is already lobbying for LSU-Alabama.

Ch!t happens! :D

and 30 minutes later, there's your obligatory apology. Rock on Lee, rock on!

Of course, the PC police at ESPN had to make him read the PC-scripted apology.

I love Corso's smirk..."I'm reading this script but I don't mean a word of it."

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

SEC vs. the Mighty Southern Conference today.

Georgia Southern @ Alabama tonight
South Carolina 27, Citadel 13 (3rd quarter)
Auburn 14, Samford 7 (2nd quarter)
Furman 22, Florida 14 (2nd quarter)
Georgia 12, Kentucky 10 (2nd quarter) Okay, fine, Kentucky football isn't FCS. They just play like it.

Fun day in the Big Ten with Iowa/Purdue, Nebraska/Michigan, and Wisconsin/Illinois.
