Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Hopefully ESPN takes it as an opportunity to finally shed some light on the story of those 5 poor girls.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Who goes to the SEC championship game if Arkansas beats LSU?

My only beef right now is that I would put Arkansas over Oklahoma, but obviously that will play itself out in a couple weeks.

If LSU wins out, it will be LSU.

If Arkansas forces the three-way, it will probably be Alabama.

The SEC tiebreakers are here: http://sec.xosdigitallabs.com/NEWS/tabid/473/Article/134195/sec-divisional-tie-breaker.aspx

All of them stay equal until the last tiebreaker, which is highest ranked team in the BCS. This carries UNLESS the second highest ranked team is also five or less places lower than the highest ranked team, in which case head to head between those two decides. With all three teams within five places of each other at current, it will almost certainly come to this. The problem for Arkansas is that Alabama will probably not sink six or more places below the Razorbacks, which means that the Alabama win will have more of an effect than Arkansas' ranking.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

So say Arkansas wins at LSU, what kind of possibilty of a Bama/Arkansas rematch is possible, assuming OSU loses? Could the Razorbacks jump Oregon? Should be somewhat interesting to see what will happen!

If everyone ends up with 1 loss it's going to be a lot of fun to see the BCS sort everything out. That scenario is just as likely as an Oregon/Oklahoma final. I'm sure TPTB will do whatever it takes to get at least one SEC team in the title game.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

At this point, pretty much any scenario except both LSU and OSU winning out becomes "interesting." If they both win out, then the BCS selection is incredibly boring and the title game will be a foregone conclusion

I can't believe I'm saying this, but go OU!

It sure could be fun down the stretch!

In other news, I'm very scared and have little to no confidence as the Hawkeyes prepare for their trip to Purdue Saturday..

I doubt you'd see a rematch of Alabama/Arkansas unless they were like the only one-loss teams, just because of the way Alabama handled Arkansas earlier in the season. The fact that Alabama held that offense to just 14 points is pretty impressive.

New Mexico's new head coach: Bob Davie.

Footbaw!
Great catch for them, strange choice for him but I suppose the instinct to build from scratch really appeals to some people.

Not too many D1 programs start with less; good luck to him.

I'm hoping that Millen and James are interested in assistant positions.

This is a very good point.

My QB from high school is a four start recruit, and he chose Minnesota..the reason has to be that he wants to be the QB that helps lead the turn around?

It must be quite an appeal for some people, no doubt.

Saturday can't come fast enough!!

(Although I only have two Saturdays left this year..:()

Fans up in Moscow are convinced that they have a lot less.... So much less that the very loss prone coach can't be let go until his contract runs out next year.

Michigan/Nebraska this weekend could have huge BCS implications..should be a fun one..you nervous?:p

All things considered, no.

The main reason is that this coach has shown on thing that I like to see in sports- improvement.

Secondly, the improvement has now lead to 8 wins this season- which is a major improvement over the last 3 season.

Third, and probably the most important by far, I will be travelling at the time, and will miss the game. ;)

Seriously, though, I'm quite pleased at the team, and how Hoke and the rest of the coaches are working with the players. If I were to see the game, I'm sure it would be a very fun game to watch. Still, thanks to questionable play by both teams, Sparty is in the Legendary drivers seat....

Or because he only considered Minnesota and Wisconsin, and he likely wouldn't play much at Wisconsin.
