Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

If Stanford beats Oregon that shouldn't happen. Not saying it won't...

Alabama is already ahead of Stanford. A win tonight and Stanford should take the lead. Oklahoma State is also still looming. The schedules after today:

Alabama: vs Georgia Southern, @Auburn
Stanford: vs Cal, vs Notre Dame, Pac-12 title game vs ASU/UCLA
Oklahoma State: @Iowa State, vs Oklahoma
LSU: @Miss, vs Arkansas, SEC title game vs UGA/SC

If everyone wins out, it'll be Oklahoma State vs LSU. If the Cowboys stumble against Oklahoma, it'll be very tight between Alabama and Stanford. Stanford better win big tonight, win big against ND and win big in the Pac-12 game or we'll have a rematch.
Of course, Arkansas can upset the apple cart with the upset @LSU...

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

How many uniform gimmicks can Maryland and ND put on one field at once? Nice of them to keep the Redskins logo at midfield as well...

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Alabama should drop 5 more spots due to the fact that Western Kentucky had 7 points on LSU in 15 minutes in Baton Rouge.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

LSU leads 14-7 at halftime in this week's Game of the Century of the Week of the SEC darling.

Another half of this, and I think WKU will deserve a rematch in the Music City Bowl in December.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Stanford's defense couldn't stop Oregon's offense if they put 15 guys out there, and it's a three year problem and counting.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Shoot. I was really hoping to see Stanford in the bcs title game. Now I have to root for Oklahoma State?

Meh.

I guess I'm rooting for Oregon to sneak into the NC game so that the Rose Bowl wants to take another eligible Pac12 team (without that stupid rule that put TCU in last year), since I'm guessing none of the other BCS bowls will be chomping at the bit to play Stanford. It would also be nice if our 2nd/3rd bowls weren't bad jokes like the Alamo Bowl and the Holiday Bowl.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Ha, one of the guys on the ESPN BCS show tried to say that Oklahoma might be the best one loss team, and the other guys jumped right on him for not saying it was Alabama.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

BCS
1) LSU
2) Oklahoma State
3) Alabama
4) Oregon
5) Oklahoma
6) Arkansas

It'll be great fun if Arkansas goes into Death Valley and upsets LSU and Oklahoma upsets Oklahoma State.

In that scenario, I can sense a split decision being a distinct possibility...

Who goes to the SEC championship game if Arkansas beats LSU?

My only beef right now is that I would put Arkansas over Oklahoma, but obviously that will play itself out in a couple weeks.

The highest-ranked team in the BCS because all the tiebreakers would fail to sort it out. Probably Alabama.
