9 Gustavus Ad.	1.3014
10 Elmira 1.1042

My ranking system is based on result only, no margin of victory. Home ice is not included, but strength of schedule is. I use a Bayesian approach, using last years results as a prior for this year's ratings. As more games are played, the less the impact of the prior. For my information, and the rest of the rankings, check out http://math.bd.psu.edu/faculty/rutter/D3_Rankings.html.

Last year's news. Is Holy Cross D3 or are they one of those convenience type schools? :)

They are in there since they play a D3 schedule. It helps with ranking of others, specially early in the season, as it adds data points for the teams HC faces. For the purposes of D3 rankings, you can kind of ignore them. Similarly they are not eligible for D3 playoffs.

Not eligible for D-III playoffs yet eligible for Division III All-American awards...go figure...

Wow...guess that tie against Salve really hurt Norwich...

Correct me if I'm wrong but this is about the time where the Rutter kicks in (save NESCAC due to its schedy)... for the most part it's purged itself of last years results.

Clinical from here on in...pure math as no people/emotions are involved.

I kinda like that and so will River Falls :),

Open the pod doors...Hal. ;)

5_4_Fighting, the impact of the prior is starting to become minimized at this point in the season, but it is still having some influence since RIT is undefeated. Without the prior, RIT's rating would approach infinity (well, more likely some random really large number) since it is undefeated. This tends to happen every year in DIII as one or two teams have perfect records for a long stretch and their ratings start to balloon compared to the DI ratings.
