And with Ernie Harwell's death, it's clearly just not a good night for any Detroit sports franchise.

Still, the 2nd round is father than I thought. Two months ago, it was questionable whether they'd even make the playoffs.

At what point does the NHL go to a 2 minute delay of game penalty for covering the puck in the crease instead of a penalty shot. This season they awarded the most penalty shots in NHL history and now, because of the shootout in regular season, all goalies are more familiar with it.

Goalies stop about 2 of 3 in the shootout on average. That's still about 10% higher than a great powerplay over a season.
