KIA Re: little birdie

Would this be the fact that after being invited to rookie camp, darling was the only rookie tender to not be invited to training camp?

Re: 2010 Maine offseason: a lazy summer on the Stillwater

Hey, they led 14-7 at one point!

...And they should have led by more.Maine was actually winning in the trenches, just as they did in the first half last year.SU's depth killed them. The Orange rotated the D line personnel liberally, and they stayed fresh while Maine wore down.Typical 1-A v.1-AA scenario.

After the Albany debacle I kinda wrote them off,but I now think that a respectable season is possible for the Bears.

Re: 2010 Maine offseason: a lazy summer on the Stillwater

Syracuse adjusted big time at the half. They realized the end zone corner float pass to an uncovered receiver would work every time they tried it.

What's the deal with calling only one Maine offensive formation with the single back only shifting from left side to right side wing ? Orange QB never went shotgun as I recall, whilst Maine's was in shotgun probably 90 % of the time.

Maine played much more disciplined this time at the Dome, when compared to last year. Yeah, we were there both times to see it in person. Syracuse very friendly to visiting Maine fans, dressed as we were (admission: we were in our Maine hockey kit).

Suggestion for those from Maine who visit Syracuse: go to the Blue Tusk (get it -- BLUE), you will enjoy the beer and wine selection there.

Penn State to go D1 in hockey

Penn State to go D1 in hockey

So, the board is heating up with the formal announcement that Penn State is upgrading their club hockey to D1 and playing independent before a conference alignment decision is made.

Observations on this from a Maine perspective:

If Penn State comes calling, put them on Maine's future non-conference schedule. Travel to Happy Valley if they offer, and even on the small rink until the new "thanks Dutch" rink is built. Wonder how well Black Bear Nation would travel to western PA for games ?

Oh, and if Penn State also comes calling on this, take their offer, please: Tim Whitehead would be a fine coach for Penn State, really, really, really.

no sir.
I have nothing against darling (although i really cannot imagine he has ever had what it takes to get far in hockey... i saw him playing for Albany and honestly thought i would be just about as good a goalie.... no I have never strapped on pads, EVER).

the birdie... hmmm, well there will be an annoucement (one that makes me wonder if the birdie is a swallow which flys to capastrano and san diego)

I kinda do have something against the subject of the impending announcement, as do all blue blooded Maine fans.

Re: 2010 Maine offseason: a lazy summer on the Stillwater

They're relocating the franchise to California?

Re: 2010 Maine offseason: a lazy summer on the Stillwater

Maine women's basketball coach Cindy Blodgett will receive a two-year contract extension.

That one isn't a joke

Re: 2010 Maine offseason: a lazy summer on the Stillwater

The hockey team is picked 8th in the Hockey East coaches' poll. The women's team, anyway
