2010 Maine offseason: a lazy summer on the Stillwater

Re: 2010 Maine offseason: a lazy summer on the Stillwater

...I'm hoping to see a 2 goalie rotation...with that said do you or anyone else believe that Whitehead has changed and would go with such a idea...maybe yes/maybe no...if NO...then you can bet there will be some unhappy netminder campers. Time will tell...what is missing at Maine is a Coach behind the bench that has any clue on how to handle goaltenders.

I don't know. He did it with Frank and Jimmy. Was Lundin on Frank's level? No. But was Bish on Jimmy's? No. So he rode what was probably the third best goalie he's had while he put the best one he's had in a rotation....granted the rotation was with the second best one he's had. So I think there are some variables here and there's really no way to tell what the heck hes going to do.

...Fair enough...time will tell...BUT lets HOPE Maine has the Goaltending to go with this years team...they have the Fire-Power and if they can tweak the D some, get the Forwards to buy into coming back on D all season long, upgrade there Face-off win percentage..well it could be a FUN season for UMaine Hockey....!!

Clearly, you have not been posting here long. Don't worry, in time the Board will wear you down to the level of the rest of us. ;) :D

No
That's the state of Maine hockey. Lots of ifs and has been for several years
...Thats 4-sure on alot of "IF's" in Maine Black Bear Hockey...just because I've just posted a few times does not mean I don't know the STATE of Hockey at Orono...have been following Maine Hockey since it started,a season ticket holder and also travel to away games and do the Post Season stuff also..Hockey East/Reg./Frozen 4's....as far as the way the Program has gone the last 4-5 years has been...well close to awful for the Die-Hard Faithful...the sad part of this is that Maine has a inept A.D. and to go with the President that spells problems...gone are the days when they took pride in the Program/Fans/Donors....

Hopefully the offense can buy us some time and keep the program above water until the goalies and the D come together. I'm hoping for home ice, after that we'll see

any news on how the boys look at night up in Orono?
Usually a lot of the players (the ones working the summer camps) skate with Prestin, Jimmy, Derek and whoever else is around.

It would be nice to read that ole number 91 is flying around and embarassing Nyquist, or at least embarassing, ummm, well anyone.

I agree with Big Papa. Enough with this threads negative bull chit. I’m ready for the bears to have things go right and have another one of those 25+ win seasons I always saw growing up. Starting with Kelen Corkum coming in and playing like a wolverine on crack with a fresh scrotum piercing.

I'm excited to have Kelen skating with the team, but I am curious as to when he'll break through with regular playing time.

It's not a discredit to his ability or potential. Its a credit to the depth at forward this year! Injuries aside, we'll always have a few capable contributors of some sort watching from bleachers!

Which end does the visiting team shoot at twice in your arena?

Nice analogy....I like it. No doubt he will be ready to play...hopefully he can play within his emotions...gotta be hard playing for dad and all. He'll find a spot...he's got too much talent and experience not to. Nothing wrong with these young guys do a little rotation early on to see where they best fit.

Assume you're considering make the early series in Orono? Should be a lights out showdown even if it is early in season.
