2010 IIHF Four Nations Cup

Hux

Alfond to Ridder & rinks in between
The US team is in camp at Bowdoin in Brunswick, Maine, and plays Sweden there on Friday night at 7:00 PM

Sweden has an exhibition game with NAHA today at 2:00PM at Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington, Mass. The game is available to watch via Rinkview.

Re: 2010 IIHF Four Nations Cup

Linking in the US Roster, I count 6 forwards who are not currently on college teams and able to make a Friday night game. I imagine Sweden has a number of players with conflicts as well. Plenty of ice time for everybody!

Re: 2010 IIHF Four Nations Cup

There is no score after one period of play between Sweden and NAHA

Re: 2010 IIHF Four Nations Cup

Sweden leads NAHA 2-0 after two periods.

Re: 2010 IIHF Four Nations Cup

I found three players from ECAC at this year's annual Four Nations-Jenner and Johnston from Cornell and Pucci from Harv. Games run Nov. 9 to 13 between Canada, USA, Finland and Sweden.

Re: 2010 IIHF Four Nations Cup

Regarding 4Nations scheduled times - with clocks rolled back in the states, believe St. Johns is 1 hour ahead of east coast so start times earlier

Re: 2010 IIHF Four Nations Cup

'tis the case - I checked on some fancy time zone website!

As they say on the CBC, 8pm local time, 8:30 in Newfoundland. Just remember that up here the clocks change back next week with some exceptions.

Re: 2010 IIHF Four Nations Cup

Forgive my ignorance, but is the 4 Nations Cup ever held in the US or does it just rotate between Canada and the Scandanavian countries?

Re: 2010 IIHF Four Nations Cup

Can anyone confirm that St. Norbert's Emma Agen (Sweden) is the first D-III player to ever play in this tournament?

Re: 2010 IIHF Four Nations Cup

It was held in Lake Placid in 2008.

Thanks Hux. I'll have to keep an eye on that and see if it is ever held somewhere where I can jump in the car and drive there. Would be great to see those four teams in action. The ticket prices really aren't that bad, especially the packages where you get to see two games on Friday and Saturday. Wish I had the coin to hop on a plane to Newfoundland!

It is Scandanavian....

History of event: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4_Nations_Cup

Seen it held in various places in Canada over the years, and been held in Lake Placid on several occasions over the years. Last time it was held in Canada (2006) it was in Kitchener, Ontario.

Post Script: The 2004 event was in Lake Placid/Burlington...See link below for that report.

The 2008 event was also in Lake Placid.

Thanks OnMAA, I corrected that. I knew it was Scandanavian. Think my fingers were moving faster than my brain on that one. Kitchener, ON, shoot, that's closer to me than Lake Placid! I will really have to keep a closer eye on this in the future. It's probably the closest thing to the Winter Olympics I will ever see (in person, anyway).
