In award related news, the New York and New Jersey chapters of the Pro Hockey Writers Associations are forgoing their ballots this year in protest of the Islanders revoking Chris Botta's credentials.

Bruins clinch the division with a win over the Thrashers. Nice Penalty Shot goal by Ryder.

2 points back of #2 Washington, 3 points back of #1 Philly with 4 games to go. Still have a shot at that #1 seed.

LOL. I don't know what I am going to do if it is Wings and Canucks in the conference finals.

Watch the 1996 and 2001 Stanley Cup Finals on VHS? ;)

I don't see the Wings getting that far this year, but they do have the uncanny ability to "flip the switch" when they want to. We'll see.

Now if the Canucks don't make it that far, they should probably just haul Luongo out into the alley behind Rogers and shoot him to get out of his contract.

Very true. Canucks might get Chicago in the first round. That could be a problem.

Pittsburgh wins tonight and reaches 100 points. Never thought that would happen after all of their injuries. I don't think they will make a deep run in the playoffs though.

Sharks come back from down 2-0 to beat Anaheim 4-2, break 100 points for the 4th straight year. More importantly, reminds us all that Anaheim sucks balls.

And it gives me an excuse to post this.....awkward gif.

Shouldn't there be a cane and a pair of dentures in there somewhere?

It's Osgood's #, so you never know if he isn't going to smoke some crack or whatever he did in the postseasons of 08 and 09 to make himself suddenly a top 5 goalie instead of an aging backup.

Well, two more will be filled this weekend. I was just gifted a pair of tickets to this Friday's game vs. Chicago, six rows from the glass. :)
So the rumors are false? You CAN give away Red Wings tickets. Next thing ya know, Charlie Sheen will be sober and sane.

Come on Rangers. As much as I love Ric Flair, I don't want him celebrating a playoff spot at my team's expense.

Plus, he will spared a ton of mocking by the talking heads at ESPN. Oh wait, they don't cover playoff hockey so scratch that point. :D

Kind of amusing to see Boston's second goal: there were six Rangers by the crease trying to swat the puck into the corner, and they still couldn't prevent that goal.

Unrelated: could someone please pinpoint for me the exact moment that "gift" became a verb?
