Somehow, I knew Brent would sig that.

It was close, as I just gotten a rep asking me to remove the Helen Keller statement because it offended the repper, and you know I love to push that big red button that says "Don't Push." ;)

But it was a good quote, since it was a valid point (about Edmonton AND GB).

"It's believed the NHL's patience with the situation in Glendale has reached the breaking point and that if the municipal bonds are not sold within a matter of days, or unless there is a new strategy revealed for getting the lease agreement done, that the league will move to relocate the team to Winnipeg."

Mike Milbury is the NHL's answer to Matt Millen. He shouldn't be allowed to speak publicly about hockey until Rick DiPietro's contract expires.

Seriously. Gilroy may have played defense well enough to cut in in the NCAA but in the NHL it seems like he gets exposed at least a couple times a game.

I'll say it: I agree with him. The concept of self-policing is silly and antiquated. Maybe back in the day, cheap shots and dirty hits got missed and they had to be avenged by giving Bobby Clarke a beatdown, but in 2011, when Milan Lucic crosschecks Dominic Moore in the head it gets seen by a ton of cameras, the league reviews it, and he (hopefully) gets suspended for a bunch of games. That hurts the Bruins more than Steve Downie punching him a few times, besides, if your goal is punishment.

(Relevant commentary starts at about 4:20 of the video.)

Oh, and Avery isn't trying to kick that puck, he's getting hooked down by Meszaros. Terrible call.

I like Emrick's effort not to jinx Lundqvist. "No one in the league has more of those getting-em-all-in-a-game than him."

So....anyone catch Mike Milbury last night calling for the end of fighting that doesn't involve hitting people with shoes?

I can't believe no one has mentioned that yet...

Did the Rangers really beat the Flyers by a touchdown yesterday? That wasn't my imagination?

Nice. That would have been much better had that been my original post!

Listened to sports radio out of Montreal this morning. Sentiment was about 50/50 that the Habs should call up Bonneau, Conboy, and Henry to "rectify what happened the last time they met". Problem with that is that none of those guys can even fight with the Bruins better fighters to begin with (save for Conboy; and that's only because he is pretty much crazy. He may not win a fight, but if I missed the game and you told me he clubbed someone with his stick...well, I wouldn't be surprised). I'm hoping that the Canadiens do what they usually do against Boston - utilize their speed and count on good goaltending and special teams.

Chara just about killed Pacioretty on the stanchon (stantion?) between benches. Pacioretty immobilized and stretchered off, Chara 5 for interference and game misconduct.

Huh, didn't realize you could give 5 for interference.

That doesn't make me feel better or worse about the giant egg the team just laid. This team still doest not get it.

The ref was playing to the Forum crowd.

It was a terrible accident, but it was an accident. Chara bumped him. I don't think he was lining up the stantion. It was just a really unfortunate situation.

Ya, game was over at that point anyway. 5 minutes for interference was definitely odd. Really wasn't that much to it IMO. I don't think Chara would try to ram someone into that part of the bench--he certainly doesn't have a reputation for stuff like that.
