After the meet the coaches night I am feeling a new confidence in our team. That could be Russell's smooth talking again, but we will just have to wait and find out.

We also have Burger king, McDonald's, <strike>Rally's</strike> Checkers, Famous Dave's, Joe's Crab Shack, Red Lobster, Red Robin, Wendy's, Chicken Shack, Sonic's, Five Guy's Burger and Fries, Stake and Shake, Applebee's, Friday's, Ruby Tuesday's, Big Boy's, and a whole bunch of other types of food.

I tried Smashburger, since they won best new burger in the twin cities or someother award like that, and I wasn't that impressed. You need to get to uptown and try Burger Jones.

That might be a better option - I'm heading to Mpls this afternoon anyway, and didn't end up going out for lunch.

Oh, and the best burger I've had in Houghton, since this thread is sortakinda about that area , was at the Pilgrim River Steakhouse, just south of Houghton on US 41. The second best was at the bar on top of Franklin Square Inn, but that's changed hands a bunch of times since.

IMO, the best burger in the CC is at the Michigan House in Calumet. Only reasonably-priced joint in the area that has actually cooked my food rare when I specifically requested it rare, and not chickened out on the grounds of avoiding a lawsuit. Not to mention they are very generous with the gorgonzola sauce on their black & blue burger.

I only went to Pilgrim River once in four years, and it was on my parents' dime. Nice place, but I'd never go there on a college student's budget.

Oh, good call - Michigan House is better than Pilgrim River, both for food and microbrews A few years ago Pilgrim River had a $5 burger deal on Monday night when you showed a student ID... haven't been much since then though.
