Boosh is right though. Look at last year when we sucked more than any year I have been at Tech, and we still managed to beat nmu twice. Its a rivalry game people. Anything can happen.

Also, nmu sucks........goats.

BTW, Boosh - does this mean that when we lose, you'll get pessimistic about the season again like you're supposed to, and I can go back to being the mildly optimistic realist? :p

What Kool-aid have you been drinking? Like I said in the Tech thread Im holding back thinking how this team is going to do this season until after this weekend.

Well, after two straight years of "sister-kissing" with tUMD followed by "less-than-stellar" performances against Tech, I'm hoping LSSU can get over the hump this year and pull out a couple of W's from this series.
Stalock is gone this year, so we got that going for us.. And I hope the third time is a charm meaning they won't lay an egg against Tech, again.. But time will tell.

Optimistic to start the new season? -Yup :cool:
Out of touch with reality based on past performances? -Perhaps, but this early in the season I'll go with optimistic :D

Safe travels to anyone roadtripping for the games this weekend. Wish I was one of them.

Yeah, go with the idea that Stalock's gone so you've got a shot. I pray your team has the same mindset so my friday night can be even more entertaining. :D

I'm one of those people who makes a very firm prediction going into each and every game, however, my dad likes to contradict me each time saying "they play the games for a reason."

Now, with this "showcase"...
Basically, rivalries are around for a reason.. They can turn the crappiest team into superheroes, based off of that pure adrenaline and motivation to kick some ***.

If Tech's going to start the season out right, they've got to put up a **** valiant effort against the Wildcats. And if they can't beat LSSU, well, I'm going to have a ridiculously painful Boosh Factor going on.

We've got home advantage. That means they'll have the Misfits AND the band, not to mention it's freakin' Homecoming weekend.
Hopefully, the spirit level on the campus will be as high as the UM campus, and this should in turn transfer down to the ice.

The boys know that they have to make amends for their errors last year, and now's the time to do it.

With the new freshmen like Pietila, Gordic, & Witt actually showing a good deal of promise, I think that the older players will improve as well. (always good to have a little bit of inner-team pushing)

As I remember tUMD is the two time defending champion of the Superior Cup! Where is the cup anyway? What could it be? It could be a ship bell or something all Yoopers and Northern Minnesotans love...a PASTY!

I think it should be a shovel. That way the teams can use it to get to practices in about a week.

There is no Cup, hence the name "Showcase."
