2009 Superior Showcase--NMU, LSSU, Tech, and tUMD

Re: 2009 Superior Showcase--NMU, LSSU, Tech, and tUMD

Well as far as the Lakers go this weekend, staying close with Duluth through two periods and a win at Tech would be a success for our team in my opinion. Wish i had the extra time and money to catch the NMU-UMD game, that strikes me as an interesting matchup.

You going to be in duluth on Friday then?

Re: 2009 Superior Showcase--NMU, LSSU, Tech, and tUMD

A series thread, yippie.

Hockey.

Ummm.

NMU sucks, even though they have like three first team CCHA selections. They still suck, and will lose two this weekend.

You know, guys, there is the Woofing Thread for stuff like ^^ that. Just saying.

Re: 2009 Superior Showcase--NMU, LSSU, Tech, and tUMD

I couldn't listen to the NMU gave due to technical problems, but did listen to the majority of the Tech game.

If Tech gives up the 2-on-1's and breakaway's they did last weekend, this will be a high-scoring game. On the other hand there could be long stretches of each team trying to feel the other out and it could end up low-scoring.

No way to know until the game is done, but I really hope NMU has learned how to score a goal against UMD because I am sick of being shutout by them.

Re: 2009 Superior Showcase--NMU, LSSU, Tech, and tUMD

If Tech expects to spend this season surprising teams, NMU would be a good starting point. I can't really say much since I didn't see Saturday's game, but I think this one should be close if Tech patches up some of the defensive holes. If not, NMU wins easily.

The LSSU game should be good for Tech either as a rebound game in the case of a loss to NMU or a momentum builder in the case that they beat NMU. As long as they don't underestimate LSSU (Tech beat them last year after all...), I think they walk away from this weekend with a split at worst.

I see LSSU as a dangerous opponent regardless of what happens against NMU. They are a scrappy team, and while we've beaten them in the last two Showcase games, both wins were close and the games could have gone either way. So if we beat NMU, we can't overlook the Lakers as an easy W, and if we lose to NMU, we can't sit around on Saturday with a "coulda, woulda, shoulda" mentality.

Either way, Tech should prepare for a big, close battle in both games. Hard-nosed, big-hitting, low-scoring Yooper hockey.

Re: 2009 Superior Showcase--NMU, LSSU, Tech, and tUMD

They should rename this the Yoopers v tUMD Cup.

Hoping for the shut out Puckheads :)

NMU Peeps...

I have just been informed that the MTU band occupies out normal seats in Section P because of the JMSIA remodeling... So where is everyone else sitting for Friday? I got two tag alongs coming up North, and I would like them to get the puckhead experience if possible :D

Is she summoning demons?

They should have subbed out LSSU for PC and tUMD for RPI so we could have a legion of **** tournament (sorry, WMU and Brown...)

That's me, too!

The full photo shows all. You can see the accompanying headline: "Girl Says She Was Told To Kill Baby Sister." Clearly we are in a cult.

Re: 2009 Superior Showcase--NMU, LSSU, Tech, and tUMD

Hmm, I forgot about these things.

I like how Tech fans are already calling the season a loss. There's no way in balls we're going to lose this game, I don't care how shady we were against Ryerson, if we're going to have a season, we're going to win this game. As far as I'm concerned, its in the bag already. NMU had the edge for the past few years, but after the domination last winter, its our turn for a bit.

That said, don't expect many powerplay goals or empty-netters.

And no one cares about tUMD or tLSSU

And NMU sucks

A lot

No idea. Just stay away from Section L. Trust me.

Stalock is gone, so you've got that going for you, which is nice.
