2009 Superior Showcase--NMU, LSSU, Tech, and tUMD

Re: 2009 Superior Showcase--NMU, LSSU, Tech, and tUMD

Dont remember the line charts distributed at the luncheon, which attendance sucked btw, but Tech is going with a bigger line-up with Rohn and Eli being two healthy scratches. Also I kind of got the vibe from Russell that Genoe might get the start Sunday against Sault Ste. Marie Residence Center of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology.
Going off memory...

Forwards
Baker - Gwilliam - MacLeod
Olson - Kattelus - Dobson
Pietella - Witt - Gordic
?? (Royer/Reddick?) - Soley - Bunger

Defense
Cousens - Seigo
Kvisto - VanWagner
Doriott - Neilson

Goalies
Robinson
Cramer
Genoe

Tech Women are HUSKY!!!
NMU cruises tonight 8-1!!!

Sorry I won't be in attendance but I promise a visit in December. Also, a special thank you to Walt Kyle and Jamie Russell for donating items for my nephew's benefit in Lake Linden last Sunday. My appreciation and that of my family cannot be stated enough. :)

Best of luck this weekend and to both squads throughout the year!!!

But for now, GO CATS GO, GO CATS GO, GO CATS GO!!! :D

Re: 2009 Superior Showcase--NMU, LSSU, Tech, and tUMD

how about you learn to click on "USCHO.com Fan Forum," "College Hockey," "Men's Division I," or "User CP" instead slacker
Because I use the back button. Changing stuff on computers confuses the **** out of me, I need to do things the same every time. Its one of the reasons I still use my computer from high school, I know how to use it and don't want to spend 4 months figuring out how to use a new one.

Re: 2009 Superior Showcase--NMU, LSSU, Tech, and tUMD

Lets just drop the ****ing puck already, actually wait 5 minutes so I can get to my seat then drop the puck.

LETS GO TECH

Re: 2009 Superior Showcase--NMU, LSSU, Tech, and tUMD

Anybody in the Marquette area need new floors? Get your discount at Matthew's Floor Fashions

Re: 2009 Superior Showcase--NMU, LSSU, Tech, and tUMD

So if Northern allows 5 goals against Tech does that mean 8 or 10 goals against UMD?

I guess the WCHA is that much better than CCHA :)

That was the story of the night.

NMU couldnt get any flow going to the game, and if it wasnt penalites, it was bad passing, and not clearing the puck out of the zone. The failure to clear directly to a least two goals that I can recall, maybe three.

NMU played very well up til their first goal, and their only lead of the night. After that it was cruise control into the ditch.

Walt and the boys have a whole day to think about this loss before Duluth. Lets hope they find it.

Re: 2009 Superior Showcase--NMU, LSSU, Tech, and tUMD

We looked great at points, but it was hard to overcome some really poor officiating. The penalty that gave Tech goal five was pure garbage, among others.

I hope they can come back and finally play well on Sunday.

I wouldnt go that far. Some calls were questionable, but you look at all the hooking calls against Northern. That shows me lazy hockey and not moving the feet. Regardless if it was a bad call or not, they put themseleves into that position.

Dude if ur going to blame the officiating look somewhere else. It honestly didnt play a factor in this game Northern had sloppy interference and hooking penalties that got called and were obvious that the first time fan couldve figured them out. Tech didnt get off the hook easy as Mason and Kolslaw both called, "questionable calls against Tech."

Bottom line is Tech came out to play and didnt let a one goal deficit let them down. NMU was outworked and outplayed in this game.

You obviously weren't at the game. I appreciate the petty comments by the way, way to be a class act.

It is true that Northern had some stupid chippy penalties, the calls weren't balanced. The penalty that let the last goal happen was a really bad call.

I'm tired of people blaming the refs every single time there is a loss. Not being able to clear the zone or make tape to tape passes put that score on the board. Not the refs. Some of the calls were iffy but none were really blatantly missed.

Re: 2009 Superior Showcase--NMU, LSSU, Tech, and tUMD

Pretty sure Painted Bandit was at the game as he was feeding updates to MEg and me in Duluth, not just on the score but on the atmosphere.

Michigan Tech generally sucks on the power play, so blaming the officials doesn't work there, either. Brett Olson is a stud and Gwills rocks! Now just keep playing that way in league play and get me fantasy points.

Aww, boo hoo. Sounds like someone's a bit bitter that their team couldn't hold up to a team playing disorganized defense and wiffing at every single open net opportunity all game long. And speaking of class acts, its always good when your starting goaltender pouts in the tunnel and then runs and cries in the locker room just because he sucks balls. The penalty that Gwills got that led to a NMU goal was a really bad call too, but somehow we managed to score 5 and win the game, imagine that

Oh, and who said we were going to win? And who all had the season written away and called me crazy? That's right

Maybe you should whine a little more, it might help.

Oops, it didn't help, so now you should stop whining. Suck it up. You have a terrible team in a terrible town with terrible fans, there is no way around it. I sure hope you become a fan of speed skating because that is the only way you're going to seen any kind of winner on ice this winter. Rebuilding should be fun after you can Mr. Kyle. It is looking like a long 5-6 years for little kittens from Marquette, and I will enjoy it mightily.

Hey, I like you, you are classy. You can disregard anything I just posted above. For classy fans like you, I only wish for the best for your team for the remainder of the year. This goes for any other NMU fans that I know to good peoples, like 'diva and bando and others, no offense to you all, have a good season.

We called you crazy because you're crazy. I had a hunch that Tech might be decent, I have 4 techies on my fantasy teams.;)

I need some more whiskey, because I need to forget about the ****ing MLB umps bending my team over a sawhorse and anal raping them.

Re: 2009 Superior Showcase--NMU, LSSU, Tech, and tUMD

Sounded on the radio like an ***-kicking.

Hopefully losing to Tech means our early-season record can be flipped.

Also, if this is how we take penalties with WCHA refs, I can't wait to see how many we rack up against the CCHA, where the game has been known to be called more tightly.

Congrats to Olson, who got credit for the first goal after the game and gets a hat trick in the home opener.

Edit: Does anyone know if Billy Smith is injured?
