I don't know what you guys are talking about but in the past 3 games where the PP has been working you can see it is a 4 forward + Medvec PP. In fact it is all the same guys Irwin/Medvec/Downing/Vock and Milo or Roloff.

Jcarter - if you stopped responding to the "fans" from other teams and IGNORED their posts they would go away. But as long as you engage them in the idiocy it will continue.
I have actually stopped looking at this Board regularly as a result of the time it takes to sift through the crap and actually read comments that are relevant to the team.
Now some comments on the team.
Grantfan - I continue to disagree with much of your commentary. Although I do agree that the PP has been perpetually too weak given the talent on the team.
Sneddon has been a huge boon to this program. Without him they would be a Hockey East doormat. The new arena is going to help hugely when it gets done (that's where my VC contributions from here forward are going).
PP wise - the guys on the points need to move it quicker and get open shooting lanes, they have not been doing that - and that IMHO is the biggest problem. The backdoor Downing goal was not a broken play, they went backdoor as they have a few times this year - it was pretty.
I also think they need to ramp the sense of urgency on the PP, they seem to loaf around too much. They need to play like it's the last minute of the game.
The team has been flat more than usual this year. I think that is a team leadership thing that seems to be improving. Should also improve with back to back games going forward.
I like Pacan and McCarthy a lot. I think they are our best freshmen since Mitchell. They are outperforming V. Stalburg at the same point in his freshman year - and they both came here a year earlier than expected. They should get PP time, they are the future of the program and I think it is a bright future.
About earlier comments on D. I TOTALLY overrated them both defensively and offensively in the pre-season. Guilty. BUT I think they can still turn it around as they have recently. A large part of the problems remains in the net. Spillane has been inconsistent - very good to great followed by disasterous. Note shutouts and blowouts he has been a part of with limited shots from opposition.
Madore has been more consistent but not at a high level of excellent. he has given up questionable goals almost every time out. I would call his performance consistently average at best. He is capable of more, we saw it last year. He was fantastic in the NCAA tournament. If he raises his game the D will get more confident and the team will go on a run.
The D is capable but I think they put too much pressure on themselves out of the gate. I think this team has the ability to come out and do what they did in the second half of 2008 and go on a nice run - mostly under the radar as they are considered overrated at this point. They have climbed back into striking distance of the tourney and have arguably dealt with the tough half of their schedule already. Now they get back to the back to back games and get into real hockey.
Not sure what to think of Marshall. He's FAST but has not shown much else in 1.5 years of pretty consistent ice time. He needs to break out a little more.

They put the Black Jerseys on sale in the rink store. They made a couple announcements during the game. I guess they feel they could sell more of them if folks saw that they actually wore them.

I disagree with the sentiment that the guys on the point need to move the puck quicker, unless you consider a quick hard shot on net to qualify. There is too much passing. Typically the PP will pass it 3-4 times before someone picks it off and clears. 1-2 shots on the PP and 20 passes will never make for an effective PP. I think Sneddon et al have pretty much proven this point over the past few seasons.
Other then that I think Sneddon is the best thing to happen to this team. He has never been able to get a decent PP going but other then that he has the team and program going in the right direction.

Snowboarder and others of us have been posting here for years and the Vermont thread had been our place to talk without the flaming that most HE teams fans enjoy so much. Those that didnt like to flame stayed out of the game threads. It doesnt matter where we post now as these dorks are gonna follow us now that they have found a group they like to harrass.

Let's we UVM Hockey fans make it our early New Year's resolution to commit to having our own discussion about hockey over and around and without any non-hockey related bothersome remarks by others.
Let us IGNORE any such unwanted comments. By 'ignore' I mean pay no attention and never respond to them. By 'never' I mean not ever, not one time, not even if you think it is of ultimate importance that some ultimate wrong be defended or corrected.
Let's let our UVM Hockey discussion be a discussion of UVM Hockey and nothing more. If others stick their noses into it without contributing to the discussion of UVM Hockey, let's let them have their fun on their own while we have our discussion.
We obviously cannot change their impressive behavior, so let's change our's slightly and enjoy our thread ourselves.

I love the old guard argument.......well we have been doing for years on OUR thread. Hmmm, I suppose no one can drive down YOUR road or goto YOUR school unless authorized by you.

You engage them almost as much as I do and you consistently complain that no one is talking about hockey and yet when people do you neither respond with hockey talk nor contribute anything of your own.
When people do try to talk hockey it is usually you who derails it by complaining. You have your own thread, why not go post there where any trolls will be breaking the rules. Then you at least have some basis to say they can't be there. Right now you are whining about the public commenting on a public thread that you neither own or started and you simply look like a crotchety old fuddy duddy.

Since suggesting a way to make this thread more enjoyable, we have embarked on a path of personal attacks among ourselves, jcarter with sincere and heartfelt thrashings of cat lover and snwbrdr and the always mean spirited observer85 with a gratuitous potshot at me, of all undeserving people.
Like the good and well-intentioned Woodchuck liberal I am, again I fail to foresee the unintended consequences of my well-intentioned thoughts to save the world. Why do I keep making that mistake in all areas?

Take a look back thru this thread and you will notice that almost all of the BC/UML fans post here are quoting your comments not mine. The proof is clear to see why they keep coming back.
Most of the people who come here to talk hockey lose interest by the time they filter thru all of the garbage.

Come on Catloafer, don't be simple. You should realize a.) that someone quoting your posts, doesn't negate that you engage them. It's like talking to a two year old. b.) that's not proof but your opinion. Proof would be like actual testimony from them.
