My parise, the Blues are going to slaughter these guys. Since the Blues appear to be trying to put a somewhat respectable NHL team on the ice.

I know its preseason, but whats the point in destroying your AHL team's confidence this early?

It's an early test. See if any of these guys can hang with an NHL team. If not, they'll be sent to Houston ASAP. No need teaching the kids the new system if they can't play in it yet. Let them learn it in Houston.

Without The Oshie the Blues don't stand a chance.

Re: 2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

Since I was lucky enough to score 4 free tickets to Friday's game, I sure hope they plan on playing a few more players from the actual NHL squad...

edit: And why no Tyler Cuma? Is he still hurt?

It'd be fun if that could happen, but I think he's got to have a few years to rebuild this thing. It was left a BIG mess.

Agreed. I'm approaching this year as if it is the "second, year one" ;)

I really deliberated on renewing season tickets last March and April. In the end, I decided I really liked the seats and, most of all, hockey. With the developments in the front office this summer, I'm kind of excited to see what happens. Worst case: last place and a high draft pick. Best case: overachievement by the players left over from the last regime and maybe some playoffs. Ultimate case (as always): Stanley Cup! Where some serious celestial bodies would have to align in just the right order :p :D

Re: 2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

With these AHL-ish rosters for the exhibition games, its hard for me to tell what lines it looks like Richards is going for. I don't think Russo has reported anything on the matter, but I could be mistaken. I feel like it should be something to the effect of:

Havlat-Koivu-Sykora
Miettinen-PMB-Nolan
Brunette-Sheppard-Clutterbuck
Pouliot-Brodziak-Gillies/Boogaard

I know Boogaard is a contentious issue for some people, but I look at how other teams have skated differently with him in the lineup (especially the Oilers, for some reason) and I still see value for him. Even if he's basically Mongo.

I think the Wild should file a grievance with the player's association. Boogaard is being singled out unfairly while goons like Pronger get slaps on the wrist or no punishment at all.
