Re: 2009-2010 NHL Season Thread 2: Its all going up in flames!

Judging by Martin Havlat's comments to The Ottawa Sun, the backup skates were in the same van.

Many here probably already knew backup skates were brought on the trips, but I thought it bore repeating as I've seem some chatter on other forums about the backup skates being in STP.

Well, that spells the end of putting backup equipment on the same van as the regular equipment.

Along with goalie equipment, backup goalie equipment, etc... It will be like transporting the President of the United States and his staff

Is this a conspiracy born from the truck rental companies that cater to NHL teams? ;) :p

C'mon -- it's Canada! There's a hockey store just a few blocks from Scotiabank Place.

Luckily they weren't in Phoenix. ;)

....or Atlanta, Tampa, Miami, etc, etc! :p

Good grief -- maybe Burke can go shopping for a goalie while he's in Buffalo.

Toskala couldn't stop a beach ball in the 2nd period. Please nail his Finnish butt to the end of the bench!

Didn't catch the end of the last thread, so not sure if this has been posted, but found it pretty funny:

Gustavsson gets 1st NHL shutout as the Leafs blank the Bruins 2-0.

Soooo -- was Boychuck's hit on Stajan a head shot or not?

Methinks Stajan should have known better than to have his head down coming across the middle. But he's a hockey player -- barely missed a shift!

It was a perfectly legal check and a beauty at that. He should have had his head up.

This Washington @ Edmonton game is a snoozer. One lucky bounce off a skate and an AHL goalie's rebound have the Oilers up 2-0. The gameplan from here? Keep double-covering Ovie.

The Boychuck-on-Stajan hit looked legal to me.

I agree. The hit is 1 minute into the video. Both coaches comment 2 minutes in.

Stupid CBC - won't allow embedding of their videos!

Does anyone know if the WJC games will be available on Center Ice?
