Jose ThreeOrFour is the Capitals choice in between the pipes. Boudreau said he won't be on a short leash like last year, so it sounds that unless he really drops the ball, he'll go until the NHL assures a Pittsburgh team will be in the Cup finals.

It's being reported that the Stars will officially not re-sign Turco this summer. Sounds like they'll go with the younger Kari "Let 'Em In" instead. :D

Who goes on IR first for the 2010-2011 season: Rick DiPietro or Kari Lehtonen?

:D

I just enjoy the irony that even the Comcast owned Flyers can't get national air time from Comcast owned Versus. :D

They know that no one wants to watch New Jersey.

(Let's be honest, there are traditions on USCHO. San Jose chokes, New Jersey ruins hockey, and Ciskie will single-handedly guide the Red Wings into the Cup finals by crowing 5 minutes early.)

Khabibulin's gotta be in that mix too. And whichever unfortunate sieve is playing for the Flyers.

Do we have to set up an odds table?

1-5 - Rick DiPietro
2-5 - Kari Lehtonen
3-5 - Nikolai Khabibulin
1-1 - Whoever signs with the Flyers
3-2 - Jonas Gustavsson
2-1 - Cam Ward
6-1 - Whoever is on the same team as Keith Ballard

I will take 6-1 odds on Whoever is on the same team as Keith Ballard.

The battle between the King and Canada became unbearably frequent -- over a twelve-year stretch (from 1982-1993), the King participated in sixteen playoff rounds, every single one of them against a Canadian opponent. The turning point finally came when the King opened his royal treasury and deftly purchased Canada's greatest weapon -- the magical #99 medallion.

Armed with the great amulet's magic, the King finally stood poised to take claim to Lord Stanley's Cup -- Canada was overmatched. But alas, at a very critical moment in the deciding match Canada cried out for the Hockey God, and the Hockey God intervened.

Yea verily, it was in truth the blind arbiter Fraser that intervened. Methinks he was blinded by the evil magic of ye cursed 99 medallion.

Is the lottery being streamed online, I don't have Versus.

That explanation of the lottery was perhaps the most confusing explanation ever. They may as well have not said anything because no one could have understood it.

1. Edmonton Oilers
2. Boston Bruins
3. Florida Panthers
4. Columbus Blue Jackets
5. New York Islanders

I can live with that. Welcome to Boston Taylor/ Tyler!

Chiarelli fleeced Toronto. Turned a #5 overall pick with deficiencies into a #2 overall pick and additional picks (I believe Toronto's 2nd this year and 1st next year).

Still have a good core of young players led by Rask and Krejci and a couple elite veterans in Savard and Chara. If only he'd stop giving out contracts like he did to Ference...

Bodog's playoff odds:

Washington Capitals 7/2
Chicago Blackhawks 9/2
San Jose Sharks 11/2
Pittsburgh Penguins 6/1
Vancouver Canucks 15/2
Detroit Red Wings 8/1
New Jersey Devils 12/1
Buffalo Sabres 20/1
Phoenix Coyotes 22/1
Los Angeles Kings 28/1
Ottawa Senators 33/1
Boston Bruins 33/1
Montreal Canadiens 35/1
Nashville Predators 40/1
Philadelphia Flyers 40/1
Colorado Avalanche 50/1

I'd take the Wings at 8-1.

I like the Wings and the Devils (the Devils bet is actually an unbiased bet. 12-1 as a number 2 seed in the east with PIT/WAS????)

Yep, those two jumped out at me as being good as well. LA isn't a horrible long-shot bet either, since they just posted an 8-spot on Ro8erto last week, and they won't be a cakewalk, on paper, for Vancouver.
