Early Saturday Update!

Two surprise ties eliminated 2 former champions last night. Saint John's eliminated our sole 2 time champion Wormser-PointRC while Saint Michael's eliminated one time champ NUProf. These are probably the two top prognosticators in the 8 season history of this event. We are now guaranteed a first time champion. This baby is wide open. :cool:

outlaw88 has also gone pretty far in this thing the past few years. This will be the first time in 2 1/2 years that I don't to make an LPS pick. I knew the Point/SJU pick was a little risky, but I figured since Point was on a roll and SJU isn't as good as they used to be, it would have worked... but so goes the game of LPS. Good Luck all remaining participants.

Always fun - I thought that St. Mike's was a lock to lose to Colby- oh, well on to the loser's bracket. Thanks for the complement, Rhett. There's always next year to win another title.

A last minute early start for SNC vs. Concordia MN at 4:00 instead of the originally scheduled 7pm. Womens hockey program wanted the late start apparently. Only decided at the beginning of this week, I think. Annoying.

Anyway, if joecct is calling himself out, I should be too since I posted at 4:10.

Ugh... that totally slipped by me. I'm not happy about the time switch, but I'm proud that everyone is such a good sport about this. I just wish we all had more notice. :(

Ok, 12:30 Eastern... seriously?

There should be an amended rule for next year... you can make your pick up to 6:00 Eastern on Fridays(or some civil time), but you can also pick a game earlier on a Friday if you wish before its start.

We'll certainly strongly consider that for this year. It should be noted, however, that we have been playing by the same rules for 8 seasons, and no one foresaw it giving the minority of players problems in the second semester this year.

The timing is odd, fine... but anyone eliminated by the first game on Friday chose to wait until Friday. It is not "bull****". If you wait for Friday because you want to (a) know more about match-ups and injuries; (b) scout your opposing contestants' picks; (c) are otherwise occupied, forgetful, lazy; and the first game is earlier than you thought or you just failed to check, then too bad... you engaged in a game of chicken and lost. The failure is totally your own.
