Re: 2/5 Let's get ready to rumble - Scores & more...

Eau Claire is up 2-1 on Arizona State late in the second.

Sister kisser at Maxcy tonight between Cortland and Potsdam 3-3. Most exciting college hockey game I've seen all season. Tip of the cap to Cortland! Tough team to put away.

Re: 2/5 Let's get ready to rumble - Scores & more...

Observations from the West:

SNC, Adrian and Point concluded head-to-head between the top 3 west teams on Friday night (with the possibility of SNC and Adrian meeting again). Here is how head-to-head shakes out:

SNC is 2-1-0 (.667) with a +3
Adrian is 2-2-0 (.500) with a -1
Point is 1-2-0 (.333) with a -2

The Point win coupled with the Hobart loss last night was huge for Point. Point gets a top 10 win while Hobart is 0-1-1 against the top 10. Point is currently at 4 losses, while Hobart is at 3; however, I believe Point has a much stronger SOS (but I've been wrong about that in the past). If Point wins out, I say they get the Pool B.

Marian wins their 9th straight and could put a wrench in the selection should they continue their hot play into the NCHA playoffs.

According to the KRACH as of this morning..WSP SOS is 11 and Hobart is 8.....

Like I said, I've been wrong before. It makes no sense to me, but it is what it is. Point has 8 games against Top 15 teams, while Hobart has only 3. To me it would seem that the stronger SOS goes to the team that has played the most games against the best teams, but apparently computers don't work that way. Go figure! Add to that that Point has zero losses to unranked teams, while Hobart has two. Again, that doesn't seem to matter in the world of computer rankings.
