118th Congress II - Neutered Dog Thrown In Gravel Pit

Not that I look very often but I swear I see a lot of "Brown +3" the few times I do. I could be wrong though.

FEMA has officially run out of funding, as of today. Mike Johnson has no plans to bring back the House until November 12, saying over the weekend that it’s “premature” to call the House back into session when states haven’t finished calculating their recovery needs from the hurricanes. Makes sense to me. I blame the Democrats and their lack of political will to fund FEMA.

Oh the Dems are to blame...they control the weather!

To be serious for a second...can Biden use Executive Powers to do something? He can't force funding of FEMA but there has to be something he can do.

Yes, you send in the army to build and move shit. To start.

Repubs are throwing the kitchen sink at Maines 2nd District. Unfortunately I see another Maga lover elected. The guy is a dope and considering the average age of the 2nd district I can't imagine being so ignorant you'd vote for some one that wants to cut SS and Medicare. Of course his ads now say he won't do that but he has said in the past he would cut both.

Yes, you send in the army to build and move ****. To start.

Normally I would think that is a great idea...but with the crackpots we are talking about the last thing we need is them taking liberties with soldiers. I mean Right Wing Media will couch it as a military takeover of Red States and 30% of the country will go Flaggy on the bit.

Right, cause if Donnie's calling for it, that's great, and a necessary thing to protect the country, but anyone else doing it and hey, that's why the Founders put in the 2nd Amendment.

Just like how Donnie swaying back and forth to show tunes for 30 minutes is a great and beautiful thing, but what would the media reaction be if that had been Sleepy Joe or Kamala?

I uh... don't see the issue. If the government doesn't want to assert it's monopoly on violence, then it's going to lose that.

HR 9495 has been sent to the House for a potential vote.

What is HR 9495? The bipartisan bill's title says it's "The Stop Terror-Financing and Tax Penalties on American. Hostages Act," in allowing the suspension of taxes due from people who are held hostage by international terrorists, but what it does is give the IRS, and Trump, the power to shut down the tax exempt status, and penalize, of any group that they deem to be "funding terrorism."

..why are they racing to pass this? Why not wait until February 15 when it will breeze through? Biden won't sign it, Schumer won't allow a vote and anything passed in the House is erased on January 5th for the new Congress the next day.

Just as confused as you are, but I have a feeling they're banking on it being bipartisan. Two R's and two D'a co-authored it.Then it gives Herr Trump day one powers.

Translation: Give us Ukraine.

Probably. The day after the election they were airing Melania's nude modeling photos on StateTV in prime time as a gentle reminder of the kompromat they have on Trump. They aren't being subtle (not that they were).
