I rarely if ever agree with you, but it would take people exactly 0 minutes to suffer unrealized losses and start getting paid.
I'm absolutely opposed to unrealized capital gains being taxed.
The devil is in the details, isn't it? I haven't seen any of them yet, but I'm reacting to the blanket "no taxes!!!1!1" stuff.
I say tax the fuck out of them. But this is like the dumbest possible way to do it.
I'd absolutely prefer to just treat all income sources the same and tax at whatever rate. But since no one is advocating that outside ... normies ... I feel like this is a decent loophole closure. Again, devil and details and all. But the ability to carry over gains and losses and report when it's convenient is outrageous. See: Donald Trump.
And will never, ever happen.

Or sit on losses indefinitely (or create artificial losses) to cover gains. Any, every, system will be gamed in favor of those with the best lawyers and accountants.
Yep, this country is hosed. It's incredible how quickly it's coming unglued, too. A third of Americans have embraced demagoguery and willful ignorance, and another third simply don't care anymore as long as they still get their teevee, video games, and fast food.
Every other country does paid leave you troglodyte piece of absolute shiat

Actually, I think there's like 29 who don't. The US is the only "first world" state that doesn't.
Because.......American exceptionalism. Bootstraps!!!!
Manchin said “no” to the billionaire tax. Apparently the 3% surtax on income above $5 million is back in play, but I don’t think Sinema will go for it.
There is ZERO billionaire's in West Virginia. Zero.
Umm I know I posted the link but she clearly agreed to do this skit.Uh, Romney actually tweeted that. I have a feeling Handy may be right and nothing will get done. Seems Sinema has been bought off the Reconciliation Bill.
