GOP is nothing if not consistent. They firmly abide by the principle that governmental decisions should be made at the highest level that the GOP controls.
 
Hard to believe that wasn't a leak to try to weaken the progressives. And let's just say it wouldn't be a progressive who would do that. Ahem.
 
No it likely wasn't. But again...why the hell do you even draft that letter? It is stupid stuff like that which is what puts Progressives behind. Stuff like this makes them look out of touch and not ready for prime time which annoys me since I give them my money.

It is fine to discuss that stuff behind closed doors amongst peers. Never trust that if you write it down it won't get out and embarrass you. Jesus the Trump cronies are showing that every friggin day as emails get released.
 
I know a number of pretty far lefties that absolutely didn't think we should aid Ukraine, at least in the early days. This isn't terribly surprising.

The far-right and the far-left are always more concerned with domestic affairs in their initial stages. They wonder why should we pay to fight imperialist proxy wars abroad when the economy either already has or is threatening to tank and we will need that money here at home? It's an argument that finds sympathy in many quarters. The fascists would rather spend it on border control, law enforcement, and die Verteidigung des Vaterlandes. The Marxists think they could use it to feed, house, and care for everyone regardless of employment status and turn the country into a magnet socialist paradise.

1. Because they are brethren right wing authoritarians.

2. Because they just want to sabotage the country to retake power. They do not have any other priorities except (1) personal enrichment, and (2) power.

Because they're fucking Nazis. They don't count anymore; they aren't Americans. Take their citizenship and then use ICE to round them up and deport them. 246 years of this bullsh-t is too long. The Right has no place in a free society; they are a cancer.
 
I've read from a few legal eagles I know that said this is as good a bill as we can expect, considering the makeup of the supreme court. This somewhat protects from an immediate overturn if Obergefell is overturned. It sounds like the bill was written assuming that decision would be, and acts accordingly.


The problem, though, is that this court doesn't give a shit about precedent or ... law ... and just uses whatever it needs to get the outcome it wants.
