The GOP needs to clean house or it will be completely taken over by these insanoids.

And with McCarthy bending the knee to Trump yesterday, I think we see where this is going. His message of unity to the party was clearly only directed at a few people, considering Gaetz's comments after as well as McCarthy's visit to Trump.

McCarthy is a weak stooge and he proved it in spades since the 6th. He went from "Trump is responsible, dont blame ANTIFA!" to "well I think what he said is fine" to "everyone's anger is to blame" to now taking his Mitt Romney concession picture with Trump in hopes he doesn't get backlash. In 22 days he completely lost his caucus and instead of fighting he chose the Neville Chamberlain path. McConnell did it in even less time.

Here is the crazy thing...I hate the Cheney's especially Liz. I think they are a cancer on this country and everything that WAS wrong with the GOP. Now I am defending the hell out of her because she is going to be primaried out in the midterms at the behest of the new evil form of the GOP. If the choice is between grifters and Nazis I will take grifters. A party run by sleezeball rape deniers like Gym Jordan cannot be allowed to be part of government.

Will be?

Krugman had a good column on this subject in the NYT. In short, if the storming of the Capitol building wasn't enough to make them take a step back and reflect on where they were currently, and where they wanted to go, ain't nothing gonna.

The Repubs are now the party of Q.

Yeah, they're toast. You don't haul all 74 million of Dump's voters back from going over the cliff. The GOP's young stars are ready and raring to embrace white nationalism and fascism, and they have no problem justifying it by propping up insane conspiracy theories, or just the good old "do it to them before they do it to us" Jablonski logical fallacy.

I'm quite confident some RWNJ is going to try and assassinate a legislator by the end of this Congress.

Going to?

Biden needs a committee figuring out how to do just that. Find some way to make it a budget issue somehow and ram it through. We have one shot at this...

In all honesty, if Democrats wanted, they could put whatever they wanted in the budget reconciliation bills, whether the parliamentarian agreed with it or not. All it would take would be for Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema to sign off, and there could be a new VRA. That said, since Sinema and Manchin aren’t willing to end the filibuster, it’s unlikely they further bastardize an already bastardized process of passing legislation. We know Bernie and Co. will test the limits though. That’s why I said the other day that Manchin and Sinema putting their foot down on the filibuster means nothing yet.

And I disagree. If they had said nothing or gave vague remarks I would be with you 100%. As of now though they are a roadblock. Now, maybe they told Schumer something different in private and that is why he seems more cocky than usual the last week or so but until I see them move an inch I won't believe they will move at all. Happy to admit I am wrong though if I turn out to be.

I hate to agree with Krugman, but here I am doing so...
