Yeah, fine. I get that. Don't necessarily disagree.

We barely eked out a win against a party of Nazis. The Nazis won pretty much every battle but three. Hey, great we wont those three!! But maybe let's wait to kill Stalin's army until after the Nazis are dead? Just a thought.

I dont disagree...but that isnt her style and she has no problem saying what a lot of people are thinking and taking the heat for it. That is why people really like her.

I think that's a flawed and extremely simplistic analysis by him. This is more a function of them being strangers in a strange land. Colin Peterson was an aberration. A DFLer isn't going to win that district, regardless of their platform or messaging, for 20+ years. They were holding on for the most part because of longevity and name recognition. Incumbents have had a massive advantage over the last 50 years. That's coming to an end as people hold career politicians in contempt.

I mean, c'mon. THis doesn't show anything.

Meanwhile, the data showing sincerely progressive candidates winning in R+20 districts...

The point wasn’t about progressives winning in R districts, it was about conservative Dems. I said it was an interesting pic, I didn’t say it was a well thought out doctoral thesis.
I’m just not on board yet with running to the middle. I certainly think local politics mean you will adapt and have large differences between different geographical areas but the generic calls to be less progressive just don’t sit well with me.

I get that and agree for the most part. I didn’t want to come off as confrontational or anything.

You run the most progressive candidate who can win. I think your comment about local races is right. All politics is local. It’s a law for a reason. We really do need to expand on Dean’s 50-state strategy and figure out a way to engage local parties far more. A 438-district strategy. If something isn’t winnable with conventional tactics, try running someone unconventional until something sticks. Then try it elsewhere. Keep running those experiments. Analyze the data.

As was mentioned earlier, FL went for trump but voted overwhelmingly for $15 min wage. Let’s square that. Let’s win.

I took the point to be return on investment, and while it is probably unfair to say LP "did nothing" (and we all enjoyed the schadenfreude of Republicans eating Reupublicans), it seems a fair point that the folks getting out the vote and registering new voters in places like Atlanta and Philly and Pittsburgh and Milwaukee deserve more credit than LP.

I’ve heard two people. Katie Porter and some Latina I’d never heard of.

Porter at least wasn’t an entirely stupid idea. If Dems take the senate, go with Schiff. If they don’t, go for a safe bet. Don’t pull people out of the house that are going to be needed for real investigations. The senate would be useless as Lady G will be running the committees there with his turtle friend.

the Latina suggestion was so exhaustively stupid my head hurt. Right because we had a shitty go at it amongst Cubans and Hispanic/Latinos along the Texas border. Everywhere else in the nation we did at least ok. So why pander to seat where the pandering is meaningless?

I love swalwell and schiff. Swalwell is great in house though.

I doubt Gavin goes with a white dude though

I think schiff is needed in the house more.

then again... maybe having a Schiff in the senate as minority leader.....

One interesting thing: he didn't wag the dog. Now, it's possible his flunkies lied to the sh-t gibbon so much about his chances he never knew he was going to lose. But it's also possible that even an Imperial President does not have the practical ability to start a war for personal gain. That would be heartening.

He's not out yet, but I'm surprised he hasn't nuked Iran.

I’m actually pretty stunned as we’ll come to think of it.

he did his best with the Iranian general though. That was incredibly stupid.

Montana
Louisiana
Kansas
North Carolina
Maine
Pennsylvania
Kentucky
Wisconsin

I think our best bet is
Kentucky - Turtle****er 78
Kansas - Pat Roberts 84

But we also need to avoid
Arizona
Maryland 77
Massachusetts 71, 74
ohio
New Hampshire 73
Vermont 80, 79
west Virginia 73

yikes

;n3615337]Any R senators in states with D governors expected to die soon?

Some states mandate that the appointee be from the same party. Which, to be honest, is the right thing.

Rumors that Schumer is putting forth a proposal to forgive $50k in student debt.

1. GOOD! ****ING DOUBLE IT!
2. Someone’s afraid for his SML spot
3. I’m not sure if this helps or hurts us in GA runoffs. My first instinct was wait to roll out the policies until after 1/20/21. But the more I think about it, the more I think it helps. I just don’t know what the electorate in GA thinks about it.

I would stay away from Green New Deal, fossil fuel industry, etc. stick with bread and butter issues. Make sure we have a cogent COVID strategy. Have a team pulled together for mobilizing the black vote.

edit: actually, Schumer is pushing for an EO to do this in the first 100 days. If the wall funding came from this, I say we pull the same sh-t and bypass blackhand turtlefuck
