The ad has been pulled by Facebook. Apparently it will fact-check ads from certain people...

This frustrates me. I'm pretty sure DC has laws against revenge porn (not sure where the video was leaked); its disgusting to see her resign over this.

Katie Hill contacted Capitol Hill Police once she was made aware of the video, stating such a law.

My rough understanding of the story based on the Daily Mail brouhaha is that her husband posted nude pics of her to some "bang my wife" website or something like that and the issue is if he did that with her consent or not. If she was okay with that its kind hard to sue for privacy now or some legal blah blah blah.

Look, my take is if she wants to take nude pictures with her friends and staff members that's her business, just like if she's banging people outside of her marriage. Doing your employees is poor judgement though and while not resignation worthy she really should have known better.

I wish she had decided to deal with the puritanical nonsense and run. My guess is the majority of people just do not give a sh-t anymore, and that women* in particular would have voted for her as a show of solidarity against the dirt bag revenge porn tactics used by the GOP here.

But of course that would make her life a living hell for the next year plus, just like the Republicans wanted it to be. It sucks that bullies and authoritarians can get away with stuff like this but as long as the population isn't grown up they will continue to.

* Obviously not the Christian fanatics, but f-ck them anyway.

My understanding is this was a long-term relationship between the three. For all I know it predated the third's working on the campaign.

If she recruited the third partner from within staff then, yes, that would be inappropriate behavior, though again the third person is not the one complaining. This is the husband being a chud and then the GOP rubbing their hands with glee and spreading revenge porn. That's the violation, here.

I wish they would prosecute all the dirt bags who spread it from the husband to the Republican operatives, then have House Ethics investigate and censure her, and then have her run for re-election and let the voters decide if they care. If the third person campaigns with her that basically tells us this is a case of a bunch of as-sholes being misogynists and/or relying upon the public's misogyny to ruin this woman's life. That makes me want to vote for her THAT MUCH MORE and I doubt I am alone.

Stand up to bullies. Never even give them a centimeter.

But that's easy for me to say. I'm not the one whose life gets ruined by these predators. It's her choice and she made it. I wish her well.
