Just two years ago, the League of Conservation Voters declared that Sen. Susan Collins, Republican from Maine, "is an extremely important ally in the fight to protect the environment and public health. […] Her leadership is more important now than ever, and we are grateful that she continues to stand up to big polluters by supporting climate action and protections for the air we breathe, the water we drink and the lands we cherish."

What a difference two years, two new Supreme Court justices, and countless Senate votes backing Donald Trump makes. This time around, the LCV is endorsing Democratic candidate Sara Gideon, one of a handful of hopeful challengers to Collins. "From her time as a town councilor to her tenure as Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, Speaker Gideon has been a leader fighting the climate crisis, promoting clean energy, & banning offshore drilling in Maine," LCV tweeted in their announcement.

Collins was on with Wolf and I wanted to reach through the screen and strangle her. She said a lot of stupid s**t, but the worst might have been claiming the timing of these hearings are suspect because they're within 1 year of the 2020 election.

Hi, I'm Amber Marie, and I'm your friendly neighborhood queer. Rubin needs to read beyond the headline. Popular Chicken Sandwich Chain has said this before, but then they turn around and increase their donations to anti-LGBTQ groups. And in this case, they may have stopped donating to two groups, but they're still donating to two more. So I'm not buying it.

I've been boycotting them since The Incident (no, the other one) and it does suck because my god those waffle fries.

The Popeyes chicken sandwich is good enough. I'm sure CFA will be fine. It isn't like fast food places need smart customers to survive, by definition.

Their waffle fries were great. I have definitely had moments where my flesh challenged my spirit but to date I have been strong.

America will eat anything deep fried, I guess. My last project, the company had a CFA franchise on-site in the corporate cafeteria. The lines every day were ridiculous. I would walk past and get something like pulled pork, cheese grits, and greens from the hot buffet line (not exactly health food), and be eating way better than any of those sad sacks.

It's like Walmart for me. I hate giving them money, feel guilty doing it, but on occasion, I do.

I used to think fries dipped in fat girl sauce (ranch dressing) were amazing, but then I had waffle fries dipped in CFA sauce.

Look at any state fair. I f--king hate most of the *************!!!!!!!NEW FOODS 2020!!!!!*************

It's always "What insane thing can we load with cheese, deep fry, and then put on a stick?" Dumb. The best state fair food is the stuff that requires more than two brain cells to come up with.

Best foods at MN State Fair:
1. Que Viet Egg Roll (never mind this is deep fried and put on a stick...)
2. Bomba Sandwich - Italian pork shoulder
3. Jerk Chicken Roti


The one insanity item I think was kind of clever and quite tasty: Dilly Dog. It's a sausage stuffed in a pickle then fried up in corn dog batter. It's stupid but I'm absolutely convinced it was done to make fun of the process.
