Omar is young, still only 37. Franken was 58 when he took office. As much as we think we're far more matured and wiser in our 30s than our 20s, I'm fairly certain that it's even much more of a difference from 37 to 58.

Both she and AOC are extreme extrovert outliers among the 50 or so under 40 yo reps we've had during the babyboomer era. I do wonder if there is a cultural role. Would a childhood in Mogadishu cause someone to look at things like this differently? I really want her to succeed and hope she settles in. US reps outsized power is due to their actions not their words.

She doesnt scare us. She is my rep and she is saying stupid things publicly she is pssing me off. She isnt AOC and the sooner you and her realize that the better off she will be. AOC knows how to play the game, Omar doesnt. You sound like Trumpers who think his stupidity is actually him playing 3D chess.

I dunno maybe I am crazy though...I thought my Rep should, ya know, REPRESENT ME AND HER CONSTITUENTS

She keeps this up she isnt long for the House which is what Pelosi has been trying to tell her for 2 weeks. I can tell you outside of a small part of her district, I doubt if many people are happy with her now. Are they scared too?

Now perhaps you can ponder how voter turnout might be affected if one side is saying their President is The Greatest Ever! while the other side is saying their own party hasn't produced a worthy President in living memory (we'll skip whether or not those people resort to misogyny in their comments for another day ).
