115th Congress the final chapter: And Gerry Mander as the Speaker.

Re: 115th Congress the final chapter: And Gerry Mander as the Speaker.

Might as well hedge your bets, since Citizens United says you can.

But hedge for what? Is MLB looking for something out of the Senate? It isnt like her winning will help them in that regard. Bad PR move out of MLB.

How many other organizations have had their star players brought up before Congress to testify on the use of PEDs? Ever since Washington made MLB's business their business, MLB was likely greasing the palms of every sitting senator, representative, and likely winners from the past election that they could.

I can see that but it would make more sense for the owners themselves to throw the $$$ around instead of the league itself. If Tom Hicks (used to be the Rangers owner) wants to give money to Ted Cruz, that's on him not the official position of major league baseball and MLB doesn't have to answer for any of his whackadoodle policy positions.

I would expect it's happening at both levels - the individual team ownership level and the MLB org doing the same.

There hasnt been a PED issue in years in front of Congress since 2005. Sorry that doesnt hold water. Plus I doubt she has taken a stand on it either way.

Re: 115th Congress the final chapter: And Gerry Mander as the Speaker.

I saw something regarding wanting to pay minor league players way less , which requires them to be seasonal workers. Didn’t care enough to see it it’s true, but it would make sense to donate to republican did you want to pay people less

Mississippi is dead last in virtually every category of life quality that exists. Why wouldn’t they continue electing republicans? It’s working so well

I wonder where they rank in those things when only white people are considered. Perhaps that could explain why they don't seem to care?

That seems to describe the reddest mid southern to southern states in general. Too ignorant to stop bending over.

Most cult members don't stop and think of the wisdom of signing over the deed to their house to the Dear Leader either. You just do it. Same concept with poor Dixie voters supporting Republicans.

With five grand? I would have thought the MLB offices have more than that sitting in their office birthday cake fund. Why even bother to donate it let alone ask for it back.

And to clarify, it just seems to me that it seems like a small amount of money to get bent out of shape over, especially in light of the fact that MLB probably just sends all of the likely winners that $5000 contribution max.

Good old Senator Collins. Advise and concede.

Donald Trump’s federal bench picks look like a MAGA rally.

Of the 48 people he’s nominated to appellate courts, none are black or Latino. Thirty-nine of them are men. Eighty percent come from the far-right Federalist Society, though only 4 percent of the nation’s lawyers are members.

But the cream of the ultra-white crop is being pushed through by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell right now: longtime Republican lawyer and political operative Thomas Farr, up for a life-tenure judgeship in the Eastern District of North Carolina.

“Even among dangerous Trump nominees Farr stands out for his decades-long crusade to disenfranchise African Americans,” the NAACP said in a statement Thursday. “He learned how to intimidate Black voters from segregationist Sen. Jesse Helms and helped turn North Carolina into ground zero for voter suppression. His nomination is a travesty. His confirmation would be heresy.”

How do all of these loons "alleviate her concerns" whenever they're up for a nomination? Like with a lollipop and a slap on the backside or is there actual cash being exchanged?
