You always have to be concerned with the “are you better off now than you were 4 yrs ago” question. And then if the ones who aren’t care enough to vote.

Re: 115th Congress - Still 100% Roy Moore Free

why yes, of course it's because you're colored!!!!

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, who was accused by a United Airlines passenger of bumping her from a first-class seat, said in a Twitter screed on Tuesday that she believes the incident is all about race.

“Since this was not any fault of mine, the way the individual continued to act appeared to be, upon reflection, because I was an African American woman, seemingly an easy target along with the African American flight attendant who was very, very nice,” the Texas Democrat wrote in a post. “This saddens me, especially at this time of year given all of the things we have to work on to help people.”

“But in the spirit of this season and out of the sincerity of my heart, if it is perceived that I had anything to do with this, I am kind enough to simply say sorry,” Jackson Lee continued. “But as an African American, I know there are too many examples like this all over the nation.”

Jean-Marie Simon, 63, said she was tossed out of her first-class seat on a Houston-to-Washington, DC, flight Dec. 18 to make way for Jackson Lee.

The teacher from Washington, DC, said in a Facebook post two days later that she saw a uniformed United employee pull Jackson Lee from the priority boarding line and escort her to a first-class seat before any other passengers got on the plane.

When Simon went to board with her first-class ticket, an agent said it wasn’t in the system. Another United attendant told her that united.com had changed her reservation an hour earlier and upgraded another passenger to her seat.

Simon later learned the congresswoman ended up in her seat.

But Jackson Lee, in her tweets, said she did “nothing wrong.”

“I asked for nothing exceptional or out of the ordinary and received nothing exceptional or out of the ordinary. I proceeded to take my seat and work on legislative issues on my way to Washington,” she posted.

Jackson Lee said she heard that the woman had “canceled her own flight.”

“I noted that this individual came toward me and took a picture. I heard later that she might have said ‘I know who she is,’ ” she wrote.

She said she hopes the airline makes everything right with Simon.

A United spokesperson said that the airline apologized to Simon and offered her a $500 voucher for another flight.

But Simon said that’s not correct.

“United has not apologized to me,” Simon told The Post in an email Tuesday. “A low ranking employee responding to an online customer complaint apologized on the phone, in his individual capacity. He also said he would send my complaint up the chain at United. To date, I have not heard from United.”

She said she did get the voucher, on Dec. 18 when the airline canceled her ticket, but after she protested the gate agent’s offer of a $300 voucher.

Democrats have a few idiots, too. Lee is one of them.

This teacher is also an idiot if she thinks United will publicly apologize to her. The current management runs them basically a half-step above a ULCC. It was my understanding that she booked an award ticket with miles, so she should have those miles refunded, but is already lucky to have gotten the $500 'bump voucher' as it is.

Re: 115th Congress - Still 100% Roy Moore Free

Ann Coulter delivered a special Christmas message this year.

In addition to her normal jeremiads against immigrants, the conservative firebrand let it be known that she wants to start by deporting the DREAMers first.

“I actually like all of the illegal immigrants except the DREAMers. They’re the ones I want deported first because they’re the activists,” said Coulter during a Christmas interview with Breitbart Editor in Chief Alexander Marlow.

“They’re the obnoxious ones,” she continued. “They’re the ones who go to congressional offices and stamp their feet and say, “How dare you not rush to grant us amnesty?’ … The DREAMers themselves are heinous, anyone would want to deport them.”

Merry Christmas, America.

She's lucky they didn't assault her and throw her off the plane :D

Stop paying attention to the professional troll and she'll go away.

Exactly. If there was more money selling this kind of stuff to liberals she'd have been a liberal firebrand. But she found the market for the low information, easily milked poutrage she is capable of spewing, so she stuck her blood funnel in it.

The hate in Coulter's words in not what is so vile. It's her utter lack of convictions. She doesn't actually hate anybody, unless it's herself. She's a rage profiteer and her victims are the poor dumb animals who plunk down their cash for her books. The good people who recoil in horror are just helping her advertise.

The effective response to her is complete disregard. Don't give her any oxygen and certainly don't let her live in your head. She is beneath contempt.

That'd be great if what she says wasn't the current policy of the United States of America. She's no different than the White House.

Yeah, because people like you hate watch her every move. She's in it for the attention, so you give her what she wants. Good call.

The old joke about Howard Stern lovers listening for 15 minutes and Howard Stern haters listening for 30 minutes applies to you in this instance.

Win elections, exclude them from power, repair and strengthen our institutions against them. But rolling around with them in the mud only empowers them.

Dump's policies are the threat. Dump himself is just a dope one barstool over.

That's a bit harsh. It's very tempting to react because what she says is so hateful and dangerous. And it is case by case whether to confront evil and so risk engaging with it and strengthening it but also stopping it in its tracks. Jake and Elwood drove over the bridge.

We try to take all that energy and use it to its maximal effectiveness by voting, lobbying, inspiring, raising our kids to be good people. There are also moments where we have to confront evil. The trick is not to let them choose the ground.

I could've posted the same thing with Trump's name and no one would have known the difference. Are we supposed to ignore the President? Does he go away if we do?

I could've posted the same thing with Trump's name and no one would have known the difference. Are we supposed to ignore the President? Does he go away if we do?

And that is the dilemma.

Obviously we do have to oppose Dump and his criminal cohort. "If we stop breathing, we'll die. If we stop fighting our enemies, the world will die." We are in the existential crisis of democracy of our lives, a repetition of the 1930s only this time the fascists have nuclear weapons. A third of our country has been fooled -- far more than were fooled in either Nazi Germany or Mussolini's Italy.

And those people are not grainy black-and-white cartoonish figures with silly armbands but our neighbors and our Cafe friends and our fellow hockey fans, just as they were to the Germans and the Italians of their time. We're learning exactly what it was like in the moment, and we know from history that a minority driven by conviction, starved of all information except propaganda, and spurred on by hatred and paranoia can literally set the world ablaze and destroy their own country.

My solution is to throw grit in the gears, slow things down, hold onto one another and keep morale up, make them fight to lower the bar every nanometer. Time is our greatest ally: these spasms always pass. The right is an epileptic -- our job is to keep them away from sharp objects. Eventually they will run out of energy.

She's practically admitted she's just a troll. For fark's sake, she's a Deadhead in real life.

It's only harsh because her shtick is so transparent that I don't get why people feel the need to take her on on her preferred terms.

Maybe now it's because we elected her male equivalent? Naaaw, that couldn't be it.

Trump is (sadly) an elected official. Coulter is a celebrity primarily famous for being famous, who only has a voice because she still draws in eyeballs like yours.

I bet the Westboro Baptist Church is still doing it's thing somewhere. Why don't you follow their every move, too?

Oh, because once people got past the outrage and just started laughing at them, they've all but disappeared? Naaaw, that couldn't be it.
