SALT or mortgage?

The most regressive taxes are still capped social security, sales taxes, and fees.

No matter what system is used to determine what a person is to pay for a service, y'all'll have some way to spin it to make it seem like any lowering of value it a cut for the rich.

1 down 1 to go

Yeah, he's going to get his Ayn Rand Nerdgasm finished and then he's going to leave. First the tax cut so his family can avoid paying the estate tax and then the entitlement reform so all the poor people that have been dragging him down can get their just desserts. Meanwhile..............

Funding for the popular Children’s Health Insurance Program, known as CHIP, has all but run out, and Congress has not agreed on a plan to renew it.

Re: 115th Congress - Still 100% Roy Moore Free

Rip off the country and literally run out the door. Ayn would be proud.

Like I said, this tax plan is all about knucks' in Congress lining up their next job. Look for massive retirements followed by cushy soft landing spots at various corporate lobbying outfits or right wing think tanks.

In recent interviews with three dozen people who know the speaker—fellow lawmakers, congressional and administration aides, conservative intellectuals and Republican lobbyists—not a single person believed Ryan will stay in Congress past 2018.

Unreal.

Re: 115th Congress - Still 100% Roy Moore Free

I'm sure it's true that we'll see a surge of retirements if the massive theft and spending cuts go through. It seems that the Republican congresspersons are goal-oriented: Complete the heist, and go profit from it by the million. The democrats are service-oriented; they see public service/the swamp/the hot interns of Washington as a professional calling in itself.

Re: 115th Congress - Still 100% Roy Moore Free

The Ryan thing shouldnt be shocking...they had to beg and plead to get him to be Speaker. He is way too egotistical to want to stay in Congress.

Re: 115th Congress - Still 100% Roy Moore Free

Good. **** that guy with a bazooka.

As an aside:
Senate: 2-0
House: 25-13

Not sure if those numbers include resignations.

Franken's not there so no.

Edit: it's lower down under "Congressional incumbents who left office early or have announced upcoming resignations." The count there is 1D Senator and 4R 1D House.

So:
Senate 2-1
House 29-14

Also means their internal polling is showing they're going to lose the House. Hard to go back to the minority after running the show.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Yeah, but it doesn’t look like they included resignations in the numbers.

Eventually, yes. But now is not the time.

He’s not going to run unless they absolutely beg him to come back. When he can’t possibly be denied the nomination. And even then, only if it looks like the nation has stopped wanting to re-enact the French Revolution after getting fleeced.
