115th Congress: On Permanent Vacation

Senator Grassley says the working class blows all it's money on booze and women. Uses that argument to justify estate tax repeal.

Shows what he knows...I don't spend any money on women...
Congress is going to pass concealed carry reciprocity. So Texas gun nut can carry his Uzi in Minnesota. **** this country.

While I like the idea of national concealed carry reciprocity, it shouldn't be implemented without some sort of national standard. Nobody should have to let Cletus carry in their state just because he's from WV.

The tricky part is a lot of states have done away with concealed carry permits so what happens to residents of those states? I understand why this makes people nervous but I don’t think it would change very much. If someone is going to kill another person the last thing they are worried about is getting caught for carrying illegally.

What’s to stop a state from not recognizing it and putting someone in a state prison for violating their CCP reciprocity?

So if a state chooses to not have concealed carry they should be told to screw off and forced to recognize it anyways? So much for states rights...

I actually agree with you. Perhaps a compromise could be some sort of federal permit that lets you carry anywhere in the country? To get one would obviously require some time, money, and effort.

No thanks. If a state doesn’t want it, they shouldn’t have one.

No. Maybe if I believed that there would be any regulation I would buy it but gun nuts and the NRA would make sure here was nothing getting in the way. This is a state issue keep it that way. If you want conceal carry or vice versa and your state is not in agreement, either vote or move.

Here's the way I would propose it.

Start with some sort of national standard on who can obtain a CCW and how they can obtain it (should not be easy). If an individual state wants to have an additional permit with lower standards, they can, but reciprocity rules for that one would stay the same as they are now. If a state wants higher standards for their residents, they can, but they cannot stop someone from out of state from carrying if they hold a permit that meets the national standard. If a state does not allow concealed carry, period, no one will be allowed to carry in that state without a federal firearms license (talking law enforcement, FFDO's, etc...).

How in the fu** these rubes continue to lap up the bullsh** the GOP thrusts upon them, thinking they're "just one Lotto ticket from being just like them!" is astounding. I'm sure there are studies on what the technical term for this weird Stockholm Syndrome/Gaslighting is.

I personally don't get it. At all. But, you know God, Gays, and Guns come to mind. And, well, not really God. Paul, yeah, but God? No, not really.

The media did it's job reporting what a disaster the tax bill is and have now moved on. That's too bad because we really need more reporting on it now. Especially with Hatch and Grassley's comments.

They will report it as things happen but in reality covering it more now is not going to do much. The people who pay attention to the media already know and understand how cruddy this is. You cant reach the rest because they wont be watching/listening/reading.

Then in addition to stealing the Supreme Court seat they also successfully stole another 1.5 trillion and put in the necessary framework to destroy the entire social safety net (Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security).

My planned retirement is now gone. I will have to start planning now on some way to work until I die and pray I am able.
