Re: 115th Congress - Fantastik! Try to remember we vote in November.

Sorry guys, but a bit of Monday morning quarterbacking going on.

Clinton was not that bad of a campaigner overall. She had a lead of about 6% after campaigning wrapped up. This lead dwindled to about 3% after Comey took her down. Obama who gets credit for being a great campaigner won by 4.2% in 2012...as an incumbent. All this makes her victory of 2.1% vote margin a pretty good achievement. And no, I don't buy that Romney was that much better of a candidate than Trump.

Re: 115th Congress - Fantastik! Try to remember we vote in November.

Obama lost some of his base for his handling of healthcare and the financial crisis.

Re: 115th Congress - Fantastik! Try to remember we vote in November.

So now Marco Rubio is a RINO? Have you seen his policy stances lately? This is what bothers me. People throw out terms like that like Trump is some sort of new wave, regular man conservative. He's not. And everyone in his party is just like him. There is nothing moderate about Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio. Nothing.
Did you not see the quotes? I don't think he is obviously, he's a scumbag like basically every Republican and no I don't think they're moderates. It's just that now that party has gotten even loonier and the future of the party (or at least present) is people like Trump and Roy Moore.

Still doesn't make HC a bad campaigner. In 2008, Obama won a landslide with a 7% lead with the tailwind of the W and GOP implosion. Prior to Comey, Hillary had a 6% lead in the polls. Hard to make the case that she wasn't doing well.

Mitch and Paul will get reelected again and they would fall in your "RINO" category. It's time we stop trying to put Republicans in different buckets. They're all the same.

Paul might not run due to the opposition he's facing, IDK about Mitch. But yeah I agree obviously, the (less blatantly fascist/racist) more moderate ones are almost more dangerous because you don't see as many of the centrists coming out and opposing them.

Sure. And Eric Cantor got primaried. Didn't make Eric Cantor any more moderate than Dave Brat

Looks like the Republicans were right to try and get Corker back in because Blackburn is getting smoked

Wait. I thought Corker did come back in?

Turtle Boy sets his legacy.

McConnell said once again that the most important accomplishment, in his mind, of Donald Trump’s administration so far has been the number of conservative judicial appointments the president has gotten through.

“I believe that’s the most important thing we’re doing,” the majority leader said. “You’ve heard me say before that I thought the decision I made not to fill the Supreme Court vacancy when Justice Scalia died was the most consequential decision I’ve made in my entire public career. The things that will last the longest time – those are my top priorities.”

I'd like to thank the Democrats for letting him get away with it.

In other words, the executive is represented by an empty suit.

Whoa, there. The Dems made it a campaign issue. Clinton sucked, but she didn't screw that up -- a large enough portion of the electorate told us they didn't care that the GOP stole a SCOTUS slot.

Who made it a campaign issue? Republicans wanted it to be a campaign issue. No Democrat in his right mind agreed with that.

I think he means people like the Bernie-Susan Sarandon wing who apparently didn't consider control of the SCOTUS to be an important enough issue to vote Dem up and down the ballot in 2016 (recall, a few more Senate seats and we don't have Neil Gorsuch even if Chump won).

Would have required taking the Senate. 51 Democrats (because we don't have the Presidency). That wasn't going to happen unless Trump got stomped which was never going to happen.

Re: 115th Congress - Fantastik! Try to remember we vote in November.

Susan Sarandon wing

Nobody is in this "wing" other than Susan Sarandon.

Bernie was right about his analysis of the country's problems and he would have beaten Dump. The fact that he lost the nomination (or was denied it by the Clintonista apparatchiks in the DNC) is unfortunate, but it's ancient history. Once she won the nomination I supported her fully, and most of us did.

If Scooby still has the vapors because thinking liberals didn't buy that old, hackneyed, 1990s, failed identity-driven campaign strategy, then he's the one who hasn't learned anything. We win if we stress liberal economic policies. We lose if we play into the knuck culture war argle bargle.

But I wish you'd stop trying to put lipstick on that pig. She's long dead. Move on and start addressing the future, starting with November.

Bernie isn't a Democrat.
