#1 Boston College vs. #6 Northeastern - HEA Semifinals - 3/18

I like "keep it in Hockey East" better ;)

Question for NU fans: is there an open competition in goal next year or is Rawlings the guy?

There **** well better be. Everytime Witt comes in after Rawlings falls apart, he keeps his team in the game by standing on his head. It's about time they at least give the kid a shot.

Re: #1 Boston College vs. #6 Northeastern - HEA Semifinals - 3/18

Good game BC. When it was 5-2 I knew it wouldn't end like that. Difference tonight was just a little too much talent and experience for NU's desperation to overcome.

Re: #1 Boston College vs. #6 Northeastern - HEA Semifinals - 3/18

Just as I predicted, the whining about officiating didn't take long to get started.

Re: #1 Boston College vs. #6 Northeastern - HEA Semifinals - 3/18

The fourth goal was horrendous?? All I have to say is watch a little more hockey then.

EDIT: He dropped to take away the far side that would have been wide open, he probably should have come out a little bit more to cut down the open areas to shoot at. However, there was literally a puck sized opening above his shoulder and Cross just picked the spot perfectly. I'm sure this is just emotion talking otherwise it is just silly.

Dude, from that angle, with a righty shooting, that's a bad goal, there's about a 1% chance he somehow does his best Mike Bossy impression and gets that far side. That has to be saved and Rawlings knew it. He sunk his head in devastation after it. I don't think any of the others were bad goals. Good passing plays and a nasty backhand.

Re: #1 Boston College vs. #6 Northeastern - HEA Semifinals - 3/18

If NU fans are gonna play the shoulda, woulda, coulda game with their goalie, then keep in mind that two of your goals were knocked in by BC players. So even with a softie or two, BC's forwards still did more than NU's.

Why aren't you guys all over Witt for that just brutal positioning on the 5th goal? Because you are just looking for something to ***** about with Rawlings.

Anyway, your goalie didn't play bad that is my opinion, you don't like it so be it. He didn't cost you the game. I'm done arguing it.

That is one of the stupidest remarks I've heard. He got pulled.

You have no clue what you are talking about regarding Rawlings. You did not watch him pull all this horrible stuff all year long.

Your opinion is so off, 'so be it' I suppose. ;)

I don't think anyone has done the coulda woulda shoulda.

You cannot compare poor goaltending to tips off BC players. That is not the same thing.

Of course BC's forwards did more, its BC.

Re: #1 Boston College vs. #6 Northeastern - HEA Semifinals - 3/18

Witt could have controlled the rebound better on that goal...

But ya, Rawlings definitely wants the Gibbons goal back and probably the Cross one

Re: #1 Boston College vs. #6 Northeastern - HEA Semifinals - 3/18

1st goal and 4th goal should have both been saved, hands down. Thats a god **** 4-3 W for NU. I can live with one bad goal a game but constant 2+ bad goals makes me irate.

Yeah, no NU fans saying shoulda, woulda, coulda.....:rolleyes:

Not to flame, but remember that NU got more than a few real softies against BU. Fun game to watch, good effort from NU to not give up after BC's 5th goal. I must say I was fairly certain you'd get that fifth goal when you were pressing with about a minute left. You should definitely be a contender next season.

you forgot the disallowed goal that should have counted.. so that is 4-4 and only a moral tie instead of a moral victory for cronin's cheaters. see, the difference between good teams like BC and crappy ones like the mildcats is that mental toughness to overcome bad calls. smaby next year?

Re: #1 Boston College vs. #6 Northeastern - HEA Semifinals - 3/18

why was this disallowed? I had to run out before the refs came out of the booth, looked like the puck clearly crossed the line before the whistle, unless they used the BU-Lowell reasoning of the whistle blow occurs when the ref thinks the whistle should be blown instead of when it actually is. otherwise, looked like a good goal on the TV replays with sound.

..instead of a moral victory for cronin's cheaters.

..Steve, whatever the actions of our Coach (re. texting future recruits this season).. justice is always served in the end in these matters. You should not disparage the fight & determination of the NU kids & the way they played the National Champs all season. Cheaters.. i think not.
I know they surprised Jerry York (even you), this season :)
G'luck to you guys.

Re: #1 Boston College vs. #6 Northeastern - HEA Semifinals - 3/18

Why is no one talking about the "interference" penalty at the end of the second period that led to bcs fourth goal? Pimm makes a pass, gets run into by a bc player, and gets called for interference. Yes, the officiating was awful on both sides, but if that penalty isn't called, it a whole different game. That "penalty" is what really changed the game. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this....

But their fans were louder tonight!
