Today (Sunday 1/24/16) saw Franklin Pierce and Southern New Hampshire go to a 4-4 tie.
Milwaukee School of Engineering faces Finlandia at 4:00 pm
What does the top of the poll look like tomorrow. Even though it was a split I gotta believe that Adrian will close the gap alot. They may split first place votes with SNC Maybe a tie at the top?
I don't think we're looking at any difference in the end result. Adrian may close the gap a bit, but this was a split with a pair of one goal games this weekend between #1 and #2. I don't see how you can flip-flop from where we started. And I'd say that regardless of who came into the weekend #1.
I think Adrian outplayed SNC both games aND don't know if that is used at all in voting, but whatever the result the west will be interesting come March. Solid hockey out here...as per usual.
Okay, might as well talk about that. It's just about that time.
In the West, we've got, in no particular order:
SNC at 14-2-1
Adrian at 15-2-1
UWRF at 12-5-3
UWEC at 12-5-2
UWSP at 13-4-1, and they host Adrian for one more non-con game in early February
MIAC champion, right now Augsburg leads that conference at 10-6-1 overall
Unless something really stupid happens (and with a month to go, any and all bets are off in this department), we could very easily be looking at no worse than a 7-4 split. The three WIAC schools are going to drag-race each other to the finish, and if two of them can somehow come home with 20 wins, selection night is going to be very interesting.
And how that 7-4 split is then split is usually the stuff of legends.
And this year, if UWEC is in this thing from the WIAC, that opens up a whole host of possibilities. IIRC, SNC and UWEC are both within 500 miles of Adrian.

I don't believe they are. UWSP is though.
The west is looking very strong, but with how well Hobart has been playing there is a strong possibility the WIAC will be passed over for Pool B, meaning they will be crossing their fingers for a Pool C. The WIAC's non conference record is down this year, especially vs the NCHA.
I say it's either the MIAC champ, Adrian, SNC, and a WIAC Pool C making up 2 western quarterfinals (match ups depend on seeding and if Point is the Pool C), or the MIAC champ travels to SNC and Adrian faces an eastern school again (Hobart or Oswego).
