1/10/15- Castors Oil Cadets? Cow vs. Chicken! Engineers like Superior position!

IMO the teams that get hurt the worse with fewer games are the ECACW and the WIAC. They will start to lose out on strength of schedule because the teams in conferences that are stronger like SUNYAC, NESCAC and ECACE in the east and NCHA in the west will have to give up games with them. They will probably have to start playing each other 4 times a season.

If that's the case I shed a tear for the WIAC. Kicking the private schools out because they couldn't afford the travel costs, allegedly, and giving up the autobid in the process. And now maybe getting pinched even more because of that decision? That's too bad.

Suck it WIAC!

I know absolutely zilch about this, but am I correct in assuming this is another NESCAC-spearheaded initiative?

They can't hear you in their ivory tower.

Why do they care about the number of games? They seem to be in alignment with basketball, another winter sport. Let schools decide what they can afford and want. What is the number of games they want to reduce it to?

22 has been thrown out there.

Nope. The Gods of D-III don't like missed class time. It's my guess that they want to eliminate mid week games. What better way than to cut down the schedule!

This will apply to bouncy ball too.

Plus the D-III championships are looking to save money. There is some talk of reducing the bracket sizes - again in all sports.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly fine with the NESCAC philosophy so long as it remains a NESCAC philosophy. I just think it'd be better for all involved if they simply kept their NCAA affiliation loose and played by their own rules (as they did until the mid-90s) rather than shaping a 600-team division in their image.

edit: Joe, I was under the impression that "NESCAC" and "Gods of D-III" were pretty much synonymous.

Clearly Southern New Hampshire University is the better team....

How about since this is a Div II team, Oswego suited up the JV team? I haven't looked at the boxscore, but I doubt their #1 goalie played. For Oswego fans, does the rest of the lineup look right?

3rd goalie and a couple names I had to look in the program for.

It was ugly to watch
