Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: Guns, Guns, And More Guns

And the parents left guns out in the open. Oh, MOST of them were unloaded.

This story really p*sses me off. This is NOT responsible gun ownership, safety, responsibility, etc.

No, no, they weren't out in the open, they were "well hidden and not easily accessible to children"

Now, I don't have kids, but from what I understand, the phrase in quotes is never as true as people believe.

If it's not in a friggin' safe, it's out in the open, as far as I'm concerned. I mean, Christmas gifts are "well hidden and not easily accessible to children" either. Uh huh.

Who is "we"?

Seems like you are setting yourself up as the Defender of the Faith of our Taliban.

If that's your side, I kinda hope your side is obliterated. They have always been against America.

I'm guessing drew is a prepper.

Our country. If there is even the slightest evidence some kid might shoot up a school they should be detained indefinitely. Maybe we could set up some anonymous tip lines they can be reported to as well.

What about that kid's Constitutional rights?

You do know there are more of them than just the Second Amendment?

I'd saying living in a house where guns are stacked neck deep exceeds the criterion of slightest evidence the kid might shoot up a school. These nutbars spring from the loins of nutbars.

Agreed.

Might. What do you do about a kid who has a ton of bibles out in the open at his/her home?

(trick question - the kid is home schooled).

OK, so let's talk about the fourth amendment. Oh right, they're already conditioned to not desire that, what with all the metal detectors and groping around.

How is he my hero? It could be true that there was a drill going on, heck they said the same thing about the Boston Marathon. That doesn't mean that the real thing couldn't happen simultaneously, regardless of beliefs of coincidence. I understand you're just being an insufferable troll because I happen to spread links from a specific website, but there is a point to this.

If anything, the "drill" mentality seems to be conditioning people to question whether or not something is actually happening. Exactly the moral of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf". Schools have what, 12 fire drills a year minimum? And after how many do people just begin to think, "Oh, it's just a drill, another way to interrupt the day." Heck, I remember the exit procedure in one classroom where I went to school only talked about a fire drill, not mentioning anything about an emergency situation. And it's not limited to the schools, either. We had a regular fire drill at a workplace (either annually or semi-annually; I don't work there anymore), and then when there actually was a problem, people would ask if it was just a drill, and then the management would have to send out "nastygrams" because people didn't take it seriously. What do you expect when you cry wolf? Look, I can understand if you need to make sure that people know how to get to safety, and if the exits are sufficient for the number of people, but it can be taken too far.

Practice, practice, practice so you know what to do when it's the real thing. Maybe announcing "No Drill" over the PA system will let the folks know when it's the real thing.

I tend to find the biggest 2nd Amendment supporters would shred the 4th and 5th if given the opportunity.

Kinda like 10th A freaks are basically just racists and Thumpers who want to impose their particular versions of Jesusharia through the states.

Fun fact: the year I took the Arizona bar exam, the Constitutional Law question in the essay portion, which at least at that time was state specific, was a tenth amendment question. Talk about horse shiat.

Only held that license for two years, never used it. Wife had a job lined up down there before the economy crashed, ended up never moving.

The 10th Amendment is the core of NJ sports gambling case v the Feds.

If you want an all powerful federal state, the 10th Amendment is an inconvenience. If you prefer the idea of a union of the several states with a federal government that governs with the consent of the governed, the the 10th Amendment is your friend.

(ok, I just watched a Capra film. So sue me. :) )

I believe I recently heard President Donald J. Trump offer to shred the Fourth in the name of expediency over due process. I was quite disgusted.

I guess none of the First Five matter much anymore.

Oh, now that we're facing a fascist right wing federal government we should be slobbering all over the 10th like Roy Moore at First Communion.
