Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: But the Second Amendment!

BREAKING: The shooter in Texas didn't act alone. Indications are he had 251 accomplices in Congress and the White House.

If that’s not a sobering assessment of America today, I don’t know what is.

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: But the Second Amendment!

So, this kid was bullied, had Nazi stuff/etc and "Born To Kill" shirt on his FB, and no one thought to look into this and talk to this kid and get help if needed?

The problem is us, folks.

Yep. If Congress had just gotten off their butts and passed a ban on assault rifles, bump stocks and oversized magazines like you guys have been demanding, those 10 people in Texas would still be alive tonight.

Dad shouldn’t be allowed to own guns unless all members of the household pass a psychological evaluation

Dad should keep his guns secure, and not have anyone else have the code to the safe. Dad is responsible for Dad's guns. Dad was not responsible. How do I know for sure? Kid got Dad's guns.

This is the worst mass shooting at a high school in America since breakfast.

See, you’re not willing to do anything. A psycho nut job in a household should disqualify anyone in that household from owning guns. It’s too high of a risk. Otherwise be willing to hold the gun owner equally responsible for any crime committed with their guns.

If dad is responsible for dad’s guns, then put him on trial for manslaughter.

Nothing will happen to dad, because he is not going to be legally responsible for what his son does with his guns.

If you ask me, the gun owners should be charged, not just the person pulling the trigger.

I've said I'm for this in the past. The only exception would be if the gun owner did indeed keep his guns stored properly and safely, and the gun was still stolen and used in a violent manner, then the owner is exempt. Say, a person broke into the safe (a steep chore, indeed, but possible).

There is a mother ****ing nazi that threatens to decimate people in the White House, and you think that should be a reason to look into someone?

It's a combo of things, if you read my post. The kid was obviously an outsider, had hints as to some troubled thoughts (besides the obvious Nazi fandom, which alone is protected free speech). Look into that. If nothing is there, then nothing is there. If there are red flags, then look into it more. He said his story "needed to be told" which implies no one was paying attention to him in a positive manner. That's sad, really sad.

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: But the Second Amendment!

Dad should be in jail. Now.

After following due process and presumed innocent and not guilty etc. Yes. IMO, dad is guilty. However, even IF we had the gun owner law in place, he still would need to stand trial.

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: But the Second Amendment!

If people had just been nicer to him...

Well, yes, sure, in an ideal world.

Noticing changes and behaviors by authority figures and whatever other co-students and reporting that or looking into it would help, too.

And then there is Scooby is who is willing to ignore Constitutional rights (and not talking 2nd Amendment), which makes him a complete hypocrite.
