Maine Black Bears 2026 Offseason: Missing Out on Mistlebacher

Shades of Liam Pecararo years ago. Hopefully he doesn’t turn into as good of a player as Pecararo did. Wasn’t the right fit at Maine so wish him the best.

Maine Black Bears 2026 Offseason: Missing Out on Mistlebacher

If they hold onto Poirier, Lipinski, gerrior Peterson, Usereau and Langlois, I’ll be pretty happy with retention of last year’s class. Regarding the veterans, Scott, Fowler, Russell, Scholle, Komarov and Pichette are the priority. Which is pretty much all that are left but I personally don’t...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

I was hoping Marques would stay as he has a lot of talent. IMO he underachieved this year and his game lacked the grit Barr wants. Wish him well and hope this isn’t an indication of a mass exodus.

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Happy for Josh, one of my favorite Black Bears. Was hoping to see him back next year with a letter on his sweater but can’t fault him and he has nothing left to prove. Nadeau era at UMaine is over, it sure was a fun one.

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

I am worried about Barr and this Minnesota job. It’s one of the few jobs in the country that would truly be tough to turn down, especially for a guy from Minnesota. Time will tell but I’m sure he’ll be interviewed.

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

A disappointing season that saved its most disappointing act for last! Never even showed up tonight

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

To be fair, I’m watching on tv so I didn’t see what actually happened other than the commentators saying he threw his stick. I’d imagine the frustration was the Komarov penalty and Maine not having a true powerplay all night. I like a captain with some fire and one that will raise hell when his...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

If this is sarcasm I guess we’d rather everyone be choir boys. Team played like dog **** but these refs were pretty awful

Whole team looks asleep but Rousseau hasn’t been sharp

Another horrible turnover for Peterson, so much talent but just boneheaded plays at times

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Another really solid weekend, perhaps they’re heating up when it matters. This logic to me makes no sense to me, you’d rather play a Wednesday night game vs Vermont so we can all feel good about ourselves and still have to play a road quarterfinal??? I’d much rather have a week to prepare for a...

Played great in the second, Nadeau is feeling it right now. Finish the job and take all

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Everyone rags on Boija but I don’t feel more confident with Rousseau. He's had plenty of playing time and I’m yet to to see it. Neither guy deserves to start every night imo

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Solid win and crucial hockey east points gained. A regulation win for Maine tomorrow night and a UNH win against UMass will put Maine back in the mix for top 4. Always the optimist, but I like their chances if they can get better goaltending than they did tonight and have been all season.

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

I’m not saying you’re wrong or your source is spewing BS. In my eyes it just doesn’t seem to jive with what we see on the ice. Despite being the most talented player on the team, he’s back checking and seemingly doing the little things right. I don’t know JP personally and if that’s true...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Thanks for providing this and it is very informative. I know a lot of people weren’t happy about the public/private partnership but seems like they’ve done a nice job with Hotel Ursa. Another factor is the amount of money not designated to athletics that will be spent at other UMS campuses. I...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

I did my best use neutral language as to not trigger anyone, but I guess I failed! I’m not saying the university should cozy up with anyone, I just want to see my Alma mater be successful and not botch the gift of a lifetime. My criticism is that Ferrini-Mundy and Malloy have been at the...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Also alum here. The Alfond money was split between athletics and academics. The athletic department really had their ducks in a row at the time of the donation and have executed on this master plan very nicely. For my money, it seems like Ferrini-Mundy and Malloy have botched the academics...

UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

This sounds like some slander to me. Effort from Poirier has been consistent which is more than I can say for most of the guys. As for him being back next year, I think he’s gone. This is a stepping stone for him to get to the next level.
