University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

Do you know if it's somebody who is already in the portal, or is it someone who might enter the portal?

University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

Not that this is definitive, but if you google Alex Bump NIL, Tim Washe NIL the only things that come up are championship T shirts that went on sale last week. If you google Harrison Scott or David Breazeale NIL, their deals with OBC, US Cellular and the bakery in Orono come up. I think blaming...

Maine Recruits: When Ashes Fall, Legends Rise

The final central scouting rankings are out. Evan Van Gorp is 193rd for NA skaters. Poul Andersen is 161st. I didn't see any other future recruits listed. https://media.nhl.com/public/news/18876

I don't think NIL is as important as you think it is. WMU spent $0 in NIL money and had a decent year this year with some elite talent.

I hope you're right, but Mark McMahon is saying UMass.

I understand that they've watched Conmy much more than I have, but he's got the highest CHIP of any forward by a substantial margin. I think that the opinions on the UNH board might not be reflective of Conmy's actual value. UNH fans were wondering if they should be dropping into the AHA...

https://chl.ca/ohl-rangers/article/press-release-simon-motew-announces-commitment-to-university-of-maine/ It says he spent time with Laval, sounds like it might have been a tryout? It doesn't seem like he ever signed a contract though.

I saw either an agent or media member on Twitter say that some CHL guys are delaying announcing their commitments to avoid potential playing time retaliation from their coaches. Landon Sim, a center for the London Knights has been linked to Maine and no one else as far as I remember. He was a...

University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

Larry Mahoney confirms the incoming freshman are Langlois, Usereau, Gerrior, Brock James, Nick Peluso and Lukas Peterson. I'm glad to see Peterson coming in, getting 20 year old freshman is great, but high level players aren't going to wait that long to get to college...

Obviously I trust the coaching staff but it seems like Noah Houle was right there to bring in a right shot defenseman. The only schools he has been linked to are Maine and Clarkson. I wonder if this means he's not coming, or maybe even more people are leaving.

Dalton to the portal. I thought he could play at this level if he cleaned up his turnovers. I'm hoping that defenseman leaving means that Holt is coming back.

Mark Divver is reporting Max Scott to Maine is likely. This would be a great pickup, a captain as a sophomore, a captain in juniors. Hopefully there's a third Scott brother to come to Maine in a few years. https://x.com/MarkDivver/status/1907491174312522017

University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

I agree that they should opt in, but I don't think it's black and white. I imagine the only thing giving coaches/athletic departments pause is the roster limit. I think it needs to be upped to 28 players, 26 players means that 4 injuries and you're playing without an extra skater. This is the...

I'm still waiting to see if Maine actually opts in. If it was known they were opting in for weeks/months, I would've thought guys like Morse and Carney would already be in the portal. I hope they opt in, but the silence from the athletic department and Barr's comments about it make me wonder...

According to Mike McMahon both are likely Boston bound. It would be nice to get them at Maine, but I'd be shocked if they could afford them. Boisvert is Canadian but UND fans seem sure he's leaving for money.

Maine Recruits: When Ashes Fall, Legends Rise

Sutter Muzzatti a 6'6 center from RPI has entered the portal. 5th round draft pick of Nashville's in 2023. He only played 10 games this year due to injury but had 10-15-25 in 33 games as a Sophomore. Could be a decent way to shore up the center position next year and replace some of Renwick and...

Love that Barr lets the players coach themselves in big moments.
