The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
My first thought was that any goal at any time in a series where there figures to be little scoring is great, no matter when it happens. But looking closely, SCSU's offense actually improved when they lost their Olympians, in that they only scored more than two goals once in nine games in...
Based on what we've seen from European players in past years returning from the Olympics, don't expect those who competed for medals to be at their usual level during the WCHA Tournament. Some are able to bounce back and regain their form by the NCAA Tournament, but the emotional tank is pretty...
From time to time, someone who is a fan of only men's hockey will come into this forum and post something like, "Who care's about women's hockey? They couldn't beat a peewee team." Today's men's Gold Medal Game was entertaining for sure, but how do coaches instruct their youth teams who have...
Three reasons why it is very difficult to compare Knight and Harvey at the NCAA level: they play different positions; the latter played her whole career with Olympic experience, while only the second half of Knight's career was as an Olympian; and the game has changed a lot in terms of...
Re: Muzzy in 2002, in those days, I think there was still a thought, especially in Canada, that the best women's NCAA hockey was played in the East, and any result that suggested otherwise was an outlier.
I understand your thought process, but to my memory, UM has never had a Canadian that made an Olympic roster. Given Canada doesn't have any future NCAA players on today's roster, fans of the Gophs don't need mixed feelings today.
A team UM played twice won over a team PSU played twice. Maybe there were some minor impacts of the other game, but the math is fairly direct, if not hugely impactful, for the first.
I'm not sure what the expectations for the other national teams are based upon, given the participation numbers in some of these countries. Canada beats the Swiss in a game that obviously wasn't as close as the score, but the bounce for the first goal was also quite fortuitous. It wasn't that...
I still care, but far less than six years ago when I'd go to almost all home games and about half on the road. Now, I can get lost making a lap around the concourse. At this point, I'll just hold my remaining thoughts for the future until the 2025-26 campaign wraps up.
You can only remain friendly with the staff in the penalty box if you visit them regularly.
As for Sweden, I thought that the players that they had played well.
In their minds, I don't think UM ever thinks they are the favorites against tOSU. The Gophs were passing like a HS team, and my apologies to well-coached HS teams, because I don't mean you. Just throw the puck somewhere, anywhere, in the hope that someone might be there. On the tape? Good one. I...
I know we sat around our on-campus apartment on Friday and listened to at least the 3rd period live on the radio. It almost seemed like even the quality of the radio broadcast wasn't great, like it was being carried over a phone line, but that may be related to whatever antena we had for our...
That's going too far. I'm thinking that there will be some "ands", as in, they'll get "destroyed and demolished and demoralized".
Earlier in the season, I'd have expected them to have an edge in net, but MacLeod looks to have rediscovered her game from what I saw on Saturday.
