Unfortunately yeah, I agree with ya ecat. Maine will be gassed and UConn has some guys with wheels. UConn 4, Maine 2. Only way Maine is in it is if Booooyahh absolutely stands on his head.

A name synonymous with Maine athletics. Died at 92 years old. A long and prosperous life no doubt. RIP

It will be interesting to see whether NU will line up 5 guys on the blue line like they did against BC to force them to dump and chase all night. I assume they wont because that strategy will play into Maine's forecheck and their ability to play demolition derby along the boards. Dont believe...

It is all about the coach and his winning ways. IF he wins, the money will follow. I remember in the early 80's pre-Walshy the Alfond was a concrete walled absolute train wreck, acoustical nightmare. Those walls were highly finished concrete almost glass like and they echoed noise like...

Guess it really does speak to the coaching staff and systems put in place to be ranked so high with such a bunch of slackers and talentless players . We’ve seen it all in the past, the distant past. Could be a motivation going forward

I disagree with Potluck. If you get THE coach very soon, everything else can and likely will fall into place, hence no need to step away from Hockey East. Having to endure 2 more years with minimal results though might put the last nail in the coffin of that happening, unless someone with...

Well said (snarky is sometimes required), particularly coming from one with a lot more experience and knowledge than those who received the email.....Dumais has some Maine ties I believe, played HS hockey at St. Doms then went on to play at and then assistant coach at Quinnipiac. His stay there...

Seeing that the Mainuhs are taking over your thread here, thought I'd add my half a cent. Without a doubt, the consensus is that your head coach needs to be replaced, with a great deal of emphasis on NOW rather than in 2 years. Thats been discussed ad nauseum for some time now.....so this begs...

Maine Recruits: When Ashes Fall, Legends Rise

The Coop was 6'9" at 17 years old. Can you imagine what 6'8" looks like on skates ? Gonna be a fan favorite.

Yep, pretty much agreed on those points. Better to dump and chase against a trapping defense than turn it over at center ice. With todays trap you dont have much choice, but having Breen in the lineup and Antonnaci refinding his game I think they have a few more outlets to avoid the trap...

Way back a couple months ago on this thread I predicted UHN would finish with all L's. At the time I was half kidding, but apparently I was spot on. Hey, someone has to finish in the cellar, why not be our good neighbors? In all fairness and sympathy, I have started a Go Fund Me page for the...

Is Breen ready to go yet? Be nice to see him on the ice soon, give his line a little more speed and creativity. Boooyahh is gonna have to be lights out tonight.

Interesting to note that Walshy's teams simply used to just steamroll the opposition in the first period at Alfond and more or less coasted to the end. Whereas Barr's boys battle their way through till the final buzzer to put teams away. Either works I guess but the ability to overcome...

I can understand Michigan would be reluctant to play at Alfond. Why play at a rabid fanbase venue where your chances of getting knocked off by what has normally been a low rpi team are pretty good? How does this benefit Michigan? And there is the revenue aspect, or lack thereof, to consider...

Excellent thought. Michigan would be a perfect fit for Portland. That would generate considerable interest in southern Maine, and as you say, be close to a different venue in the Boston area maybe so they can play another opponent that weekend. Make it happen.
