Because it matters with who’s selling the lie.Why would it die when it seems to work so well. You buy up all the media and continue to feed the sheep BS.
Was calling it New Artificial Zenith Intelligence a little too on the nose for them? We're rebranding AI to SI because Trump loves to name things.
I guess because I am immune to his spell, I am also very confused by people who find him appealing or are drawn to him. The man is pure dripslime as far as I am concerned.Because it matters with who’s selling the lie.
Dump, somehow, has the ability to sell his lies and get people to believe him. It’s a pretty rare ability. It’s hard to see people like Vance or Hegseth being able to get away with the same things.

The new office reports directly to Keggy. This on the heals of the mother-effing Pentagon launching the Office of Religious Affairs to "address a loss of religious community within the military".
Among the funding priorities listed in the Defense Department memo about the new office are “faith-based homeschool support for military families,” faith-based suicide-reduction initiatives, and “contracted services from faith-based non-Federal entities.”
Hegseth’s 2022 co-authored tome, Battle for the American Mind, is essentially a book-length extension of that metaphor. “Charging the ‘commanding heights’—the leftists’ educational Death Star—with Nerf guns will not suffice,” he writes. “We don’t want martyrs, we want victors.” Classical Christian education is our only hope to “give our kids and grandkids at least a fighting chance to save America and Christendom,” Hegseth concludes. He exhorts parents to “join the insurgency!” Children educated in this way, he believes, might stand a chance at defending their nation—because the wokes have failed miserably.
In his 2024 book, The War on Warriors, Hegseth writes that the Geneva Conventions are unfair because the United States and Europe are the only ones that follow them. Instead, “America should fight by its own rules,” he declares. The nation’s soldiers should be “the most overwhelmingly lethal as they can be.”
Hegseth’s own faith is relevant here: He is a member of a conservative denomination called the Communion of Reformed Evangelicals Churches (CREC) that explicitly advocates for Christians to exert their faith’s influence over the government.
At a February Pentagon prayer service, the featured speaker was Doug Wilson, the Moscow, Idaho, pastor who founded CREC. Wilson, who has described his vision of “a network of nations bound together by a formal, public, civic acknowledgement of the lordship of Jesus Christ and the fundamental truth of the Apostles’ Creed,” has long argued in favor of Christian nationalism, and he has likened his fiefdom in Idaho—which includes a church, school, college, and publishing house—to a "working prototype" of what Christian nationalism could look like.
He is a sad, outwardly secure, but inwardly scared and insecure, version of what John Wayne’s characters told him a cowboy and soldier is. At the same time, he doesn’t understand that John Wayne’s characters were pure bullshit when set against the simple scrutiny of reading accounts given by actual cowboys and soldiers in those situations.Along with Kegsbreath announcing "no beardos, weirdos, t (slur), etc." Again, he's 12.
I'd rather have actual 12 year olds in charge.
The DOD (and by extension, the taxpayers) picks up Pete's tabs. Also with Hegseth, no tabs.
I appreciated him stating "No weirdos, no fatties," then in the very next breath introducing Elon Musk and Newt Gingritch to leadership roles.Along with Kegsbreath announcing "no beardos, weirdos, t (slur), etc." Again, he's 12.

I assumed it was a slur for beards, when used to describe gay men who act in straight relationships. Also, what exactly is a "beardo"? I assume that's the new "soy boy" used as a ridiculous epithet for left-leaning, scruffy hipsters?
Actually competent soldiers.Update: Turns out "beardo" is mil slang for guys who have exemptions from the standard clean-shaven requirement; especially religious exemptions, or special forces recon trying to blend into the locale (i.e., the guys who dressed local, spoke fluent Dari/Farsi, and were looking for info on OBL).
Can't imagine who that might target.
And for that matter, Wayne's best and most memorable characters were outworldy cocky or severe, but they had an inner depth and were fully human. Think of him in Stagecoach, Quiet Man, Liberty Valence, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon. Those characters were the opposite of Hegseth's macho thirsty flop sweat. He is a sad, outwardly secure, but inwardly scared and insecure, version of what John Wayne’s characters told him a cowboy and soldier is. He’s all smoke, but he forgot the mirrors.
