MLB 2026: The dying of the light

That was a rumor I heard months ago.

Issue I've heard is the salary floor that the luxury teams are going to force upon the rest of the teams if they do get a cap.

Last I heard, both sides were still miles away from each other with no serious negotiation yet.

It's going to be a looooooooooooong year next year.
Yeah, I'm not expecting much of a season next year. If any at all.

There are only like 5 Little League organizations in Oklahoma. Last year the Tulsa softball team won the state tournament but came under scrutiny for having illegal players during the World Series. This year they got to regionals before getting protested and kicked out for ineligible players. Basically the same deal as last year, just this time Little League chose to investigate.

Same thing just happened to their baseball team. Won the state tournament, made it to regionals, then the team was protested for eligibility and had to forfeit.

Well, their team photo made things a little obvious...

Sounds like it's a case of the famous "boundary" violation, aka a player from outside the area.

Because having a thinly veiled travel ball team masquerading as a Little League is perfectly ok, but only if they live within arbitrary boundaries likely created to protect wealthier areas.

(Little League is a terrible organization)

Mighty Ducks 2 taught me that boundaries were bullshit. Threw a hissy fit to get the cake eater in the first one, but Fulton was allowed when he’s from damn Stillwater?

Brewers beat Seattle 22-0, including a nine run 8th inning where Milwaukee had a sac fly to center, then Julio Rodriguez forgot how many outs there were and threw the ball into the stands allowing another run to score.

Mariners Baseball!

Hopefully it doesn't affect the Tacoma kids at the LLWS today.

BTW does that woman announcer have an accent particular to someplace in the Midwest? If so, I never want to go there in my life. I knew Long Islanders and Bostonians sound like imbeciles. But that is the all-time worst.

I thought all you hayseeds sounded like Letterkenny? At least that's fucking endearing.

Read more on this. It sounds like there was a player who joined the league from outside the boundaries through a waiver process because his parents signed his sibling up for a Challenger division team (Challenger being for those with disabilities). The rule being that if your sibling plays in the league, you can join that league even if you live outside the boundaries. Presumably Tulsa is the only league that offers a Challenger division, which allowed the sibling to be signed up for a team outside the league boundary in the first place. However, the waiver only works if the younger sibling is 8 or younger. The parents said the sibling was 7 when in reality they are 10.
