MLB 2026: The dying of the light

Well, Mize pulled for tonight, reportedly as a safety precaution as he’s on the trading block.

Skubal, Mize, Torres and Jansen are all expected to be gone by Monday.

Word is the Brewers had a better deal on the table, but they went with the Dodgers instead.

Apparently Detroit is still bitter the Brewers wrung all they could from Prince Fielder and he was horrible for Detroit, so bad that they traded him two years into his nine year deal.

Saw a fun theory that they let Skubal go to LAD to get a ring and in return he'd sign back with Detroit.

Yes, it sounded stupid to me too, but it's a nice thought.

That sounds like cope. Teams do not operate like surly teens.

Mets trade Peralta to TB for three lottery tickets. Not much back but we're talking about 2 months of an old guy having a terrible year.

*checks notes* Old? He's thirty. 🙃

Also, Exhibit B in "Brewers wringing as much as they can from someone, and sending them to a new team as just a husk of themselves."

Mets have moved 7 rostered guys for twelve A and AA prospects, with 21 minutes to go.

Counting the current guys we are going to be playing at least 12 players who started the season in the minors.

We did not eat a dime of exiting players so as of this instant in time, if you extrapolated, we would fall under the luxury tax.
