Probably old news but Don Sweeney interview indicates the plan is for Dean to stay at the heights for another year. (so I will have to cheer against him for one more year lol)
Makes sense to me, worked for Ryan DonatoLooks like Gasseau won't be a Bruins afterall and testing free agency

MY bad, I was thinking of Vesey. I forgot about Kevin Hayes, still think it is a good move for Gasseau.Ryan Donato was a Bruins draft pick and signed after two years at Harvard in 2018
Article 8.6(c) of the NHL CBA.Gotta admit I do t understand the draft / free agency rules… why can Gasseau choose free agency? Age? Draft year? Stayed in college an extra year?
An NHL Club shall retain the exclusive right to negotiate and sign a drafted Player who becomes a bona fide college student until August 15 following the Player’s graduation or exhaustion of college eligibility, after which the Player may elect unrestricted free‑agent status if unsigned.
At the moment there is no grandfathering - so this class would not be allowed to return to college. Unfortunate since this class in on of the only ones (last years class as well) in recent years without a 5th year (COVID RULES). I assume they are going to open themselves up to a million lawsuits - so will be interesting if they end up allowing this years "grads" to return for a 5th. I assume they are trying to get around the fact that most colleges have already completed rosters for next year and they don't want to create another backlog like it did during COVID. We will see in May.If the new eligibility rules go into effect in September can Gasseau return?
