TV 20 - Sorry no fancy title

Trump is a gift to comics, anyway.

I am interested in what Colbert does next. Stewart is a sharp example of what not to do. Colbert is 100x smarter and has already entirely reinvented himself once. I'll bet what comes next is even better, and it is not bound by the strictures of The Old Firm.

Look at South Park -- they have been reborn with a spurt of creativity. These people are not machines, they have human motives and weaknesses. They get tired or in a rut. Things happen that shake them up and suddenly the fizz is back. You don't think deep down Colbert is not boiling, and terrified, by 1936? Of course we never actually know the man, only the schtick, but to me he seems like Not On My Watch about a repeat of 1941. And he is bright enough and talented enough and connected enough to make new things happen.

In a regular normal live sketch, though, I'm just very aware he's one of the PDD guys and as a result he doesn't meld in with the sketch. It also doesn't help he's a foot taller than everyone else and has a very noticeable pointy face. I don't even think he's trying to be weird and out of place in the live sketches, he's trying to be a regular sketch performer, but it just doesn't work.

His bit on Update about the ginger from the beach was poop.

I loved PDND. But outside it he does seem to be flailing.

Watched the first two episodes of the new Stranger Things season last night. There is no way the acting was this bad in previous seasons. Finn Wolfhard comes off as someone trying to act. You can see it in his mind when he decides to change facial expressions or put extra emphasis on a word. On top of that there is some terrible green screen usage and awful CGI. I don’t know where all this extra money went to.

It was always bad...it was given a pass because they were kids. Millie Bobby Brown legit cannot act. As they aged it became more apparent. Christ Finn coukdnt act decent in a friggin Ghostbusters film.

The show has held on way too long. I will finish it just cause...but its the best example of why Netflix is just trash and I will cancel it after the finale.

Steve is the only good thing. I just tried watching the latest episodes, had to multi-task. I just don't care

I'm glad I stopped halfway through S3 because it was already so bad.

S2 was cromulent.

S1 was magic.

cf. West World, Killing Eve.

Everybody should just stop every series after S1. What we lose is tolerable compared to what we avoid.
