"Security" at big box stores usually amounts to the greeter at the door acknowledging your presence. That and the cameras are enough to spook 80% of people even thinking about trying it. Social engineering at work.
 
Can't find anymore workers to underpay and flog for mandatory OT. Those jobs usually go to the undocumented and there are unreported accidents all the time, even the occasional death.
Which remind me to rant about the fact that nobody breaking the law by hiring undocumented workers ever gets in trouble. They are the leading cause of the undocumented, since they create the reason to cross the border illegally. But nobody cares about them.

When I worked for the Tyson in Zeeland, my coworkers were either undocumented immigrants or local folks with almost no higher education and no future. Not surprising the local folks went overwhelmingly for Dump in 2016.

Got my blood drawn this morning for my routine annual physical. Fully covered by my employer's insurance as preventative care, of course.

Watched the older, and I assume not yet Medicare-eligible person in front of me pay cash out of pocket for the same lab work. Healthcare in this country is so fucked up, particularly when we've got people in their 50s and early 60s who are increasingly no longer seen as "employable" by corporations (because they would expect a high salary or retraining them would cost too much), but can't afford insurance.
