Minnesotans Arguing About the Weather IV: Niño or Niña, My Joints Stopped Trying

Do you guys remember when the weather was just flip flopping between extreme temperatures and extreme weather events?

Sounds like a bad one came thru yesterday

Saw local news put out warning that a derecho is likely today

Tons of comments underneath about how weather events are the new pandemic to scare people

Not bots either, because clicking on them reveals they know a few of my derrrrrrp extended family members
 
In the almost 10 years we have lived in our house we have lost power more this month than the rest of the time combined. Lots of downed trees...guess we didnt pray enough!
 
Power flickered at my home 3 times last night and reset the stream I was trying to watch. Not impressed with how a small weather event still affects electricity so much.
 
8.8 earthquake around the Russian Far East, Tsunami watches for Alaska, west coast, warning for Hawaii. Russian coast had waves from 10-13 feet.

We're right on the start of predicted arrival times for Alaska (in the Aleutians right now), through around 1am ET.

Hawaii has issued immediate evacuations, including for Oahu.

We are on the big island now. But up in the mountains waiting this out. Our apt owner heard 1-3 ft in Kona. Hope that is right.
